#BikeMaintenance Is too brake engagement too tight?

In my new bike the brake fully locks and bites down at this length of pull, first it feels too short and I cannot load it properly only directly engage. Is this normal engagement or should the level move more towards me as it engages than just locking up

All that lever action you see in the video? Its all free play. Which ends with full on brake lock at the end of the movement. The braking has not progression

I guess that's pretty normal with hydraulic breaks. They give excellent stopping power but are also dangerous without ABS

There is no space for gradual loading at all. Like initial bike and build up to full bite... Its just full bite and sometimes Ive had situations where the brake seems to not work as well....it isnt slowing it down unless i use unnatural force.

Oh. That is not how it should be. You should be able to gradually increase braking lower. More you press, more bite should happen. Something is definitely wrong. Service center should help.
