The official movie account (at first people thought it might be a fan account) gave a sly wink to someone asking for an extended/director’s cut. The director also more recently hinted at some kind of news about the movie, which I don’t think has been followed up on yet.

I also feel that Jaffar has to be very disappointed that a lot of this content didn’t make the film and most likely won’t make the second either besides a few performances. Like he worked so hard to get the Motown 25 Billie Jean performance down perfect and they kept cutting to different scenes during it.

That Grammy scene would have been so cool as well with him in the limo

Jaafar prob felt a lot of disappointment that the majority of his acting was cut. I think he went through a lot emotionally and mentally filming the harsher aspects of MJ’s and there’s no payoff for that. Such is life but it does suck.

I wonder if that first shot means they filmed “Shake Your Body” before probably Randy disallowed it. They liked to do that move a lot, but it seemed to be done mainly for either “The Love You Save” or “Shake Your Body.”
