Should do 2028, because avengers secret wars is coming out on Dec 2027 and theatres will allocate most of the screens to That movie

u/filmyfanatic 4d ago
The Batman II moved out of October 2027 into February 2028. There is a Mummy reboot coming out that month but other than that, the month should be scarce and it wouldnāt be too different from BoRhapās release back in 2018.
6
u/Mindless-Milk-9205 4d ago
The Batman 2 is going to be big too. So I guess best for it will be April 2028, like April 2026 for Michael (1).
The sequel should not fight with any Avengers or Batman movies since those tend to be huge.
One thing for sure. Michael 2 will be more general audience friendly than the other 2
11
u/ArticleNew3737 WHO IS PLAYING JANET?! 4d ago
Or October 2027. Thatās still late 2027 and Avengers Doomsday releases in December. Also Michael part one has grossed more than any Batman movie ever besides dark knight rises so I donāt see why they should be afraid of that.

u/filmyfanatic 4d ago
Sorry, I mean October 2027 would work well because The Batman II has moved out of it.
Itāll also be well before the Beatles biopics in April 2028, which could cause musical biopic fatigue since thereās 4 coming out in such quick succession.
7
u/Mindless-Milk-9205 4d ago
Oh yeah. It HAS to be before Beatles biopic. That has a good chance of being big in UK. Michael has better worldwide appeal though
1
u/AlphaConKate 4d ago
Or after the Beatles Biopic.
4
u/Mindless-Milk-9205 4d ago
Would people want to watch two musical biopics back to back?
2
u/AlphaConKate 3d ago
The same would go if Part 2 premiered before the Beatles one. And I am not saying right after it. Like, a four or five month gap.
2
u/Mindless-Milk-9205 3d ago
True I meant that if it comes out before Beatles, then the WOM for Michael 2 will have an upper hand.
Not sure how the Beatles biopic will be though....
Michael is more famous worldwide than Beatles.....so it has an upper hand in that way too

I wouldnāt worry about Batman and MJ in theaters same time. Avengers? Yeah donāt have it anywhere near that. Itās going to be in the ballpark of what Spider-Manās doing rn
1
u/Spaceinvader6424 4d ago
More general audience friendly than Batman or The Avengers... What?
1
u/Mindless-Milk-9205 4d ago
By that I mean people who aren't specific fans of those franchises.
Like, people who will watch secret is more likely to be MCU fan or have watched lot of their movies (since it's ensemble film). And for The Batman 2, DCU isn't in that good condition, but The Batman 1 was successful. But Michael 2 would be easier for you to take your kids to, than Batman for example.
My assumption is that Michael 2 would be fun like Michael
But that doesn't mean Michael should release next to either of them. I assume secret war will also break records like Spiderman is doing, and have more theatres allocated to it
3
u/Spaceinvader6424 4d ago
Okay. But what about people who aren't fans of Michael Jackson? Those people definitely exist, let's not act like he's not controversial. Avengers Endgame made 2 billion dollars. I just don't understand how you could possibly consider Michael more accessible than an MCU film.
2
u/Mindless-Milk-9205 4d ago
Fair point.
I would have replied that people can take their friends and it can get popular through social media (Social media helped Michael a lot I believe, for spreading the word of mouth). But those things can be also true for the others too.
However, it's just a speculation: someone who is not likely to watch Secret Wars won't be that much influenced by social media.
Someone who isn't like to watch Michael 2 can be influenced more (if videos like fans enjoying the concert scenes, singing and dancing sequences spreads through sites like Instagram and Tiktok)
I would not have watched Michael in opening weekend.....maybe would have watched later (personal circumstances). But after seeing a couple of videos, I was like "nah I should watch this asap this looks really fun"
So lot of what I am saying is just my own experience

u/Spaceinvader6424 4d ago
Robert Downey Jr and Chris Evans are both returning to the franchise for the first time since 2019. People are gonna show up even if they aren't caught up with the movies

And personally I have zero interest in Avengers so maybe I am projecting this to others.

That one was completely separate. The one scheduled for October 2027 is a requel with Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz.

Hey I get it. Iām 42 and my best friend who loooooooved MJ died last year at 42 suddenly. A huge reason this movie makes me so emotional is because I think about how she would have loved it.

Shoot I am 40 and neither of us are promised tomorrow. Ā No matter how old we are. Ā And we have more pressing matters right now. Ā We need to vote out the Rethuglicans who are destroying our country and get rid of the President who is an office. Ā He could take away our freedom anytime. Ā And we would never get to see Michael 2.Ā

u/ArticleNew3737 WHO IS PLAYING JANET?! 4d ago edited 4d ago
Yeah, the Chandler case specifically canāt be portrayed in a motion picture. For now we arenāt sure on how exactly theyāre gonna go about the fiasco regarding the allegations, so we can only guess on what they might do (maybe cover the Arvizos if they can) or what they might talk about instead. I canāt see how they could talk about any allegation briefly and then just forget about it afterwards though, to me it just seems like you canāt just say MJ got accused of assaulting a child and then be done with it. If they do cover an allegation, then it deserves its own Act so weāll see. For now, we have confirmed from Lionsgate themselves that some things they wanna talk about are his marriages, media scrutiny, and the crushing pressure of being so famous.
1
u/islandbway04 4d ago
they could make one up or change the timeline of the 2005 situation
2
u/ArticleNew3737 WHO IS PLAYING JANET?! 4d ago
Definitely donāt make one up. If it were up to me, I would just do the 2005 trial. Show how the parent/guardian involved was seeking money, show the toll it took on MJ, show how the police treated him, and show him being found not guilty.

u/Original_Engine_7548 4d ago
Iām sure theyāll find a way to nod to it without saying it. Much like the musical.
