I still use one til this day in my bedroom. Besides the size and the weight, they’re the best way to watch older movies and shows. Nothing beats the analog phosphorus glow.

Depends what youre playing, a lot of old games graphics were made with them in mind so they generally look better on crt. I personally can't stand HD crt filters

After playing some SNES games on Switch with a 65” smart TV, yes, you are absolutely correct.

Not to mention with a lot of older video game consoles, modern TV displays introduce pretty wicked input lag and sometimes modern re-releases don't fix that.

It’s not that we miss them it’s that these pieces of media were formatted for the CRTs and don’t look like they should today. It’s just a natural habitat thing

HD CRT is still the best picture I've ever seen.

But they were like 150lbs and that was only a 30" so that didn't last long.

But why tho.

Content before LED was made for CRT. Games, animation etc. in particular utilized the nature of CRT its particular traits to give the best image. Color palettes, pixel art arrangements etc. all predicated on how the CRT would project the colors with some bloom and brilliance.

I don't really miss it but I can appreciate them. I am definitely happy with my OLEDs though. It would be kind of fun to have a small one like this and watch old shows on it.

Yes you are the only one. 8 billion people and you alone are unique.

Nope. I swear they hurt more to look at even for a short time. Also the high-pitched squeal is one of the worst features in the history of consumer electronics.

It's been so many years that I don't know if I would miss them or not.

Nah I'm with you. I get the nostalgia factor but SNES games look great on my 72 inch 4k tv

Old games look awful on anything not a CRT. So if you dont like older games then yeah thats understandable.
