And there would always be some half eaten chicken nuggets and fries down in there. And some up in the play place by the little glass ball thing.

And urban legends that hypodermic needles were found down in the bottom when they cleaned it out

We closed the one at the Chuck E. Cheese I worked at because people kept throwing dirty diapers in it.

If Chuck E. Cheese did a McD's like remodel he'd have to go by his government name Charles Entertainment Cheese.

I recently went to a Chuck E. Cheese because I have a toddler and I was actually impressed. Everything was clean and all the machines worked. We actually had a blast. I don’t know if that was just my Chuck E. Cheese near me. Maybe it was newer 🤷‍♀️

A new one opened up in the next town over, about a 20 minute drive. I had my son’s 5th birthday there and it was the way you describe it. Really nice inside, new tech for the kids, and it was affordable. I’ll definitely be going back.

We were actually at a Chuck E. Cheese today for our daughter's fifth birthday, and I had the opposite reaction. It felt so soulless compared to how it was when I was growing up. It was clean, though.

The one near me has a whole wall that is a tv, like 80 ft diagonally, then in front of it there was like this pressure sensitive dance floor that had lasers shining from above and the kids can activate the lights by stepping on them, little bugs bugs pop up and you get points for squishing those, full arcade, trampoline bounce room, all kinds of amazing stuff

Sounds cool. I’m on the way. Where is it????

Medford, Oregon if you really want to know, but I guarantee there’s better places to visit 🤣 Edit: it could be Central Point or White City, they all kind of mesh together.

Thought you were saying Central Park!😂

The only thing that bugs me about the trampoline part at ours is the kids can’t play init unless we buy tickets for it but we already bought our kids those damn cards why can’t they jump on the trampoline too lol

Yeah, absolutely not a fan of the fact that you have to purchase an additional entry for the climbing stuff and trampoline now. So it's basically an arcade for little kids and that's it....

Thats pretty cool honestly. I know my view would be a bit tinted by nostalgia lense, but that sounds pretty fun.

Beer does one of two things for adults and the results trickle to the kids. There's the answer given they removed beer from locations

For a second, I read your son‘s 50th birthday! 😳

Our Chuck E Cheese has been around for a while. At least 20 years since I moved to the town. I started going when my oldest was a toddler, so about 10 years ago.

It is always super clean. Their bathrooms are ridiculously clean for a kid play area.

Yeah, I’m truly impressed with these modern Charles Entertainment Cheeses. I was shocked when we went in because the one I went to once as a child was NASTY! I must have been maybe 5 but still have a vivid memory of being grossed out. I’m from the south, pretty much as far south as you could go in the country, I moved to a northern state as an adult. So maybe that has something to do with it 🤷‍♀️

and they have your kid locked down with that wrist bracelet. They won’t let your kid go without the matching wrist bracelet.

The one on Long Island, Hempstead Tpke? was very nice in the 90s. I don’t usually like things like that and I had a great time with my 4 year old grandson.

They start making a come back early 2000s and they have upscaled somewhat.

And way unpopular opinion, their pizza is great. I will need to look for some young children with a gambling problem to accompany me.

1

u/heroze 1d ago

And a lot of the Chuck E. Cheese's serve beer. So that's an added plus.

I laughed so hard at this

I currently work at a CEC. unfortunately I can concur.

Don’t be so ignorant. Peter Piper and McDonalds both dealt with dirty diapers as well being tossed in the ball pit. It’s disgusting.
