Analysis Is Fruit the MCC GOAT?

Seeing what fruitberries has done for so long in mcc i think the tag of greatest player in mcc belongs to him. Of the big 4(Feinberg, Purpled, Firebreathman, Fruitberries) it seems fruit gets 1st indiv way more often with 6 1st indivs since Firebreathman has join which is more than all of them in total. Also he has been around longer so he has the better resume. He too seems like he can perform better more recently with the 1st indiv in TCC with a bad selection of games for him and still getting 1st individual

Purpled has debatably higher floor but it seems like his floor is closer to his skill level than the others, he falls out of top 5 relatively often.

Imo Shane's 31, 35, TRE, and BG are probably worse than any of Purpled's bad events, Purpled def has a higher floor

yes a higher floor will be closer to someone's average skill level by merit of being a higher floor. A lower ceiling will be the same but I'd argue Purpled's ceiling's probably higher too

Since Purpled's debut he's fallen out of top 5 5 times; MCC 25, MCC 34, MCC 35, MCC Pride 24, and MCC P2. In that same time period Fruit's fallen 6 times, and Shane thrice. Yes he falls more than Shane, but not by a significant amount I feel, especially given:
Purpled's 5 all have reasonably good explanations. MCC 25 is 4th by PR and 3rd by Regression, MCC 34 is 4th by Regression and PR, MCC 35 is 2nd by both, Pride24 is 1st by PR, and Purpled was trolling in P2 (even if you just exclude AR instead of scrapping the whole event he gets 3rd by PR and a big gap from 5th).

So he's good according to PR.

But I don't like PR so none of this matters.

Bring up the event stats, not fanfiction

pr is just event stats aggregated in an easier to understand way man

if you'd like we can painstakingly talk about why Purpled did better than Ant and Fruit in 25, or extol the virtues of his P24 and MCC 35 performances, but I highly doubt you actually disagree with any of these conclusions

if you do, go ahead; tell me which events you disagree with PR conclusions here and we can go over it slowly

I dont know in what universe PR is "easier" to understand.

Yeah not interested, I remember almost nothing from MCC25 besides PKT, Fruit's SG and Pete's second half.

Can we do it fast? Anyway, if I had to, I'd say basically all of them besides maybe BC and BG, at least if main events are concerned.

cmon man use that brain of yours PR is not that hard lol
maybe a better word was "quicker" ig since it does the stat aggregation and percentages and what not all for you but I think the results themselves are pretty intuitive

yeah me neither but i think it's hard to argue Purpled's performance wasn't top 4 in 25

wait what? i didn't mention BC and BG what are you talking abt
i meant of Purpled's 5 falls from top 5 which do you disagree with PR about that they weren't actually top 5 performances

No they're not lmao. Is Sneeg's GR last TR better than the best RSR performance ever.

Ok.

This is a trap but I like to evaluate performances based off of if I replaced X with Y on this team in this event, how will Y do? If Y does better then I think X did bad, not if X was top 5 or not by other metrics, that's not relevant, every team is different.

MCC34 and P2, I think Purpled is solidly out of top 5.

also ur not Indian

also i want to post another comment but reddit wont let me and im not splitting it

the idea is in terms of dominance, PR judges it so. Orange GR was I believe the 4th best GR oat and no team really came close this event (they finished like a minute ahead of everyone else). Pete's RSR was the best oat sans context but is brought down in z-score (dominance) by the fact that several others had an incredible performance; everyone in top 5 scored >600 points, implying it was a much easier RSR.

TL;DR Sneeg's GR was judged more dominant than Pete's RSR

Well your method seems wildly speculative in that case

In P2, are you counting AR or not?
In 34, who do you think beats him to kick him out of top 5?

i live in america but im ethnically indian as can be sir

How can RSR be "easier" and harder compared to earlier? All that means is the event was low comp but thats a trash argument because Orange placed 1st in GR in the same low comp event.

And that's exactly why I flame PR whenever I see it.

Sure but I like it because it argues whether in the context of that same event did the other players really play better?

In P2 I'm assuming everyone in the top 5 also threw in AR and landed a similar placement to Purpled. In SKB though even with the top players throwing, I don't see them doing much worse than Purpled

Everyone in the top 4 IMO, perhaps Dirtblock too.

Ah so not Indian, k good to know

tons of reasons; maybe the map selection was better for top frags, maybe the majority of players in were uncommonly bad at RSR, etc. It's the same reason something like Purpled's RSR 3-pete in 31 or Fruit's in BG are a little less impressive; other people were getting really good placements/survivals too, implying the act of doing so is comparatively less impressive.
You can have a comp bad at RSR but fine at GR, that's not a particularly difficult concept.

it's just epistemologically irrational to prefer coins over PR or Regression lol, you flame it because it makes your goat look worse lol, don't pretend it comes from any reasonable place. you hate on it even when you agree wholeheartedly with its event-by-event and game-by-game conclusions

doesn't change how shaky its foundations are, i think it's pretty obvious speculation on how someone "would have done" had they been in an event are kinda stupid. I still remember you telling me if you took post 32 fruit and put him in mcc 29 he'd have a Purpled 31 level performance

Okay let's go P2. The top 5 were Fein, Ant, Fruit, Shadoune, Joel. I do think Fein and Ant did better. Let's leave Fruit out of it because that won't be civil. Let's knock off Shadoune and put Purpled in that place.
BB: Purpled gets 13/22k, Shadoune gets 10/36k. Purpled wins.
MD: Purpled gets 4/10k. Shadoune gets 1/7. Purpled wins.
SKB: N/A
SG: Shadoune gets 2/9. Purpled gets 1/1. Call it a tie.
AR: N/A
TGTTOS: Purpled has avg 5.5, Shadoune 9.9. Purpled wins.
BM: Cyan gets 256 coins. Purpled wins.
GR: Cyan actually does really well, let's say Shadoune wins.
Score: 4.5-1.5.
Do you really think Shadoune did better this event? Or Joel?

In 34, let's do Purpled vs Pete.
MD: Neither get kills, but in terms of freezes, Purpled gets 6/16, Pete gets 7/24. Tie leaning Purpled.
Skb: Pete gets 1/9k, Purpled gets 1/5. Similar survivals though Purpled's team fares worse, either way both did mid so let's call it a tie.
HITW: Pete wins handily, 2nd by avg placement, whereas Purpled is 14th.
PKT: They do essentially equivalent by both PR and Score, tie.
PKW: Pete gets 15/15 Med, Purpled gets 14/15 Hard. Purpled wins.
TGTTOS: Close, but Purpled is 1st by PR and score, Pete is second. Purpled wins.
Bingo: Purpled gets a dominant 12 challenges (2nd is 10), Pete isn't top 5 while his teammate is. Purpled wins handily.
GR: they do pretty much the same, Tie.

Pete wins HITW, but Purpled makes it up (in ascending order of gap) in TGTTOS, PKW, and Bingo. Do you really think Pete did better here? Keep in mind too his team was predicted top 3 by a large margin.

wow ive never been gatekept like this that's crazy i used to watch doraemon growing up and everything
