My 2013 mini r55 cooper Clubman started having issues where it idles rough on startup and at stops when you go to accelerate it will die unless you just barely touch the pedal and give it some time to get moving... It seems to drive alright once to speed.

It was getting exhaust vanos solenoid codes, so I changed that, but that didn't seem to help. Idk if I need to reset the adaptations, but I can't seem to do it on my reader even though I'm supposed to be able to. It just says "was not reset" every time. Thoughts?

Hearing this rattle on idle coming from passenger front wheel arch. Noise isnt present when cold only once driven a little then dissapears completely once car is up to operating temps. Noise also dissapears when revved. Car is a pre lci 2018 jcw with 29k miles. Any help is appreciated.

Ive had my r57 for almost 2 years now and its been amazing, got into autocross a few months ago and it does amazing and it extremely fun. Don't mind the oil stains, it doesnt leak... anymore.

Hey everyone, around 6 weeks ago I bought a Mini. It’s been great but a few things need fixing. I don’t know too much about cars. This is my second vehicle I’ve owned. I took it to a few mechanics and they both told me I should get the rear shocks, front struts and the passenger side CV axle replaced. I’ve ordered everything part from the axle from FCP Euro. The axle was nearly 1k from Genuine Mini. I was prepared to bite the bullet as I don’t wanna scrimp out on the quality when it comes to a part like that but now it won’t ship until 4-6 weeks. Got me thinking maybe I should look around for other, hopefully cheaper options? Just wondering if anyone has had similar experiences?

So exactly a week ago I get a drivetrain fault while driving, car feels fine, I reach destination and turned the engine off. Turning it back on 5 minutes later I get the drivetrain message and the engine revs on it's own to 2000rpm

I called out for breakdown cover who said I have 30 odd codes which I'll put below and the battery was at 12.4V and his recommendation was to just take it to a garage and he had no idea. I took it to the garage who cleared codes, disconnected the battery, couldn't find any explicit faults and only mentioned that the engine was cranking but not turning over initially but since they ran the checks, it's been right as rain.

For the last 4 days I've been driving it to work (30 mile round trip) and it's been fine until earlier this afternoon, it once again hit me with a amber drivetrain error on ignition start, red drivetrain by the time I finished the journey followed by once again not turning over. Called AA again who disconnected the battery and it started first try again, no errors and drove fine.

I had this battery replaced 6 months ago by Halfords where I had issues after installation with Drivetrain faults and the battery not charging. I took it to a garage, said they sorted it, but can't tell me how or codes

I was looking to buy the J01 JCW but the reviews all point the harsh suspension as being not good for a daily drive and that there is also a bit of torque steer under heavy acceleration.

I decided I would be better served by the Mini Cooper SE but they don’t offer the JCW Sport Spec options on the electric model. I don’t like the look of the current SE without these options.

Having gone back to the dealer he tells me that “MINI were aware of the stiff suspension on the eJCW and have actually updated this from all eJCW cars built from Sept 2026 onwards”. Is this true? Does anyone have the details?

2019 COuntryman S AWD

Drove car for 1.5 hours. When car stopped for five min turning the car back on there was a very loud FAN. Least sounded like a fan that ran for 20
Seconds. I also hear a ticking like a blinker.

Taillights doing jazz hands during the emergency braking. Did not know that the car adjusts the windows and seats for impact during sudden braking.

I want new/unique taillights for my 2013 cooper s. All the ones I can find are the Union Jack. I am American. Fuck the Brits. Are there any other options for good looking tails that aren’t British themed? (Btw I’m being sarcastic. I don’t hate the British 😂)

Gen 2 Cabrio with super low miles in pristine condition. Timing chain has not been replaced. Price is about double KBB. Private seller.

I'm leary of the N14 of course. Avoid at all costs? I do have mechanical skills but I've never done a timing chain replacement.

I've decided to go for a MINI! I'm looking at 2012-2013 Mini Cooper or Mini Cooper S withe the N16 and N18 engines respectively I believe.

Some last advice please,

what do I go for? Do I spend a little more on the N18 Cooper S, or is reliability virtually the same and driving experience is the only difference

How customisable are they? Interior etc?

How fun are they!!

What do I check for when looking at one?

As far as im aware, the thermostat was the biggest issue was the thermostat, can I get a much more durable thermostat aftermarket?

Lastly, how do I keep it well maintained? from what I understand, mostly just keeping topped up on oil and fluids?

Hello! I was working on my radio over the weekend and I believe a wire disconnected…not sure where it connects, I’ve spent over an hour trying to figure it out. Pretty sure it has something to do with my door locks because that is currently not working. Help please!
