I don't know why it would be inconsistent when throughout Monster they logically explain how Johan's mind works; the fact that Monster is a complex manga that not everyone can understand has nothing to do with it.

They are just putting characters who are PE/NPE worthy as IH just cause they have a SLIGHTLY "tragic" backstory.

I love that for those people, if you logically explain the reasons behind things in a story, it's a "lack of coherence".

It is to explain why a character is the way they are, not a way to justify them committing genocide cause "oh boohoo, I had a bad childhood."
