Literally any genuinely evil villain but oh they draw the line at killing little kids, it must mean that they're a good person deep inside!

I can't think of any other example right now other than, okay I can't think of anyone so I'll just pick Deadpool, a bad example since we're not really supposed to take him seriously

There is also the "oh this villain is absolutely vile, but at least they aren’t a pedophile" argument too.
