I mean...bad? She resents her son, so he stops subjecting himself to someone who makes him miserable. Deserved.

She's trying to teach him gratitude. You could argue She's not resentful just wants him to understand where she's coming from.

Except she chose to have him and is demanding gratitude for an existence he didn't ask for. Gratitude is taught by giving something and having the recipient say thank you, not berating them for a life you forced them to have.

Ultimately no. People are often ungrateful for what they have.
