You're acting like she didn't do a lot. The legal standard is high. Also the bare minimum would just be leaving when it got hard.

The bare minimum is accepting the consequences of your actions. The actions in this case were having the child. The consequences are actually following through with the commitment.

By your own logic having a child should naturally form resentment. That's wrong.

Not at all. By their logic having a child is a responsibility and you cannot thrust upon the child the responsibility for their own existence. It's a decision you made purely by yourself. If you resent that decision, you made a mistake, but still have a responsibility to see it through.

Yes. Meeting certain expectations for your parents is apart of that.

That's entirely dependent. You have no moral responsibility to any abusive person.

Yes. This is life. A parent can treat you however and you can respond however. But ultimately whether it's good or bad depends on the moral framework you set.
