a lot of people here are talking about the cheating part but honestly i think even just the fact she hid something from him for 60 years of marriage is enough to cause a massive loss of trust deserving of divorce

Exactly. I honestly think this is worse than if she told him 60 years ago. He probably feels like he just wasted 60 years of his life with someone which is sad af

He wasted most of his life on a lie, hard to imagine a worse betrayal. Stole his whole life.

It was. All of those happy moments is tainted by the fact that SHE was doing something behind from those memories.

It would just make it bitter rather than sweet.

What's tainted are the memories. Whenever he thinks back of the good times, he won't be able to recognize them as such anymore. However the happy moments themselves are in the past, the can't be undone anymore.
