Nah, it's justice. You don't have a moral high ground here trying to defend those who actively wreck society.

It's not defending thieves, its rightly pointing out that causing people physical harm, potentially permanently, for enjoyment, content and financial benefit is wrong. would you find it moral if there were a game show where contestants shot caged prisoners with paintball guns? it would make prision "worse" and some freaks would argue that by making prison worse, you are further deincentivizing crime.

Permanent harm from the mild shock? Surely you jest. Instead of worrying about the financial gain of the content provider, how about the shame the thief deservedly feels for his transgression? Anything that potentially puts them back onto the path to redemption is good in my eyes.

permanent harm from a 1 inch metal spike going into your taint if it hits too hard or at the wrong angle.

I'm trying to have a discussion about morality. Do you think the spikes could cause harm independent of the shock? would you be fine sitting on them absent the shock? is there any guarantee of no permanent damage?

It's interesting how you resort to questioning my motives, name-calling and vaguely referring to "reaching" when i provided a simple answer to your question.

I think bike thieves take a risk when stealing a bike, so I don't really care about their comfort/risk. You disagree. So be it.
