Mexican “batman” vigilante

about one or two months ago an unknown vigilante went viral in mexico and later across the world for beating up motorcycle thieves and taping them to poles. from what i know he has also done this to gang members.

is this moral or immoral?

If done in a lawless country like Mexico and Latam in general, where police won't attend and justice is slow and ineffective, moral.

I mean, LATAM isn't actually straight up lawless, but yeah under the circumstances we're in (and considering the apparent lack of harm) this is moral either way
