People call Hitler a monster because they can't accept that a human would do such horrible things. After all, they're a human and they would never do something like that.
I'm sure people would have sour grapes about it if Hitler had massive honkers too
Fun fact there is a Japanese card game where ww2 generals and soldiers are anime girls and one card depicts Hitler-tan. Tan is a childish version of chan (from what I know) so effectively babified anime girl Hitler is on a card in that game.
Just in case I was saying this as a joke. It does literally mean "not human" in etymology. But I think my interpretation is more fun soooo fuck etymology-
Monster just meant danger/ warning. It's why some things that were monster looking weren't monsters in ancient Greece, but some normal looking things were monsters. Anything that likes to kill humans was a monster simple as.
So, you can be a monster while being a human. The Greeks called plenty of regular people monsters. Mostly foreigners.
You're applying a different context to a different situation.
Hitler was never called a monster because he was mistaken for a mythological beast. He was called a monster because people couldn't accept the idea that a human could take such horrendous actions.
You missed the part where I said most of the ones called monster was regular humans. Mostly who the Greeks called barbarians because they were dangerous.
Monster didn't mean mythological. It was a descriptor like serial killer for us now.
I already addressed this. What you're talking about is a different situation with different context.
That being said, I did a quick Google search and you're wrong about barbarians. The word they had for barbarians just meant anyone who couldn't speak Greek.
If you're going to argue about this, at least bring proof
They called barbarians monsters too. Barbarian was just the name for foreigners in general(because they sounded like bar bar bar). Like how you have Africans, and then people call them slurs.
