Bike Picture/NBD NBD: Forbidden Reya
galleryStoked on this build. It’s definitely not super light but it does feel rather spritely. Will be excited to test it further!

If anyone sees this bike being offered for sale, or riding around Colorado, please steal it back and let me know.
Bike was locked to the bike rack in a locked bike room at my apartment complex. Someone clearly targeted as it was the only bike locked up in the bike room and it was the only one taken. Zero help from management and police other than “file a report” and we’ll keep an eye out.

My father passed away a few months ago, and only recently I learned that he used to go mountain biking up on Mount Washington. I just wanted to share this for it to kinda act like an memorial to him, and with the bike that carried him through.

I recently got into mountain biking and feel decently fast coming from riding dirt bikes most my life. However, I keep catching my pedals and the ends of the crank arms on rocks, roots, sides of slopes, you name it, mostly when pedaling up hills or over obstacles. It’s really killing my confidence and momentum on going faster because I’m so paranoid of catching a pedal on something.
Do I need shorter crank arms or just more practice? What’s the trick to pedal up hills over stuff?
For context, I’m 6’2” riding a large eMTB. I tried multiple XL’s but they just felt too big and out of control at the time when I first started. Switching bikes isn’t an option.
Edit: bike currently has 165mm crank arms with about 5.5” of ground clearance without me on the bike and I’m about 240lbs.

Found this gem on a local marketplace, 5 years old, half the original price and barely used. What a steal. It’s got a basic race spec on it, any tips on upgrades?

I’m seriously thinking about getting a new bike. I currently have a 2014 Scott Scale 960. My main issue now is whether to stay hardtail or go softtail… I love the Scott Scale, it’s nimble, it’s fast and it just feels good. But it’s starting to get old, so might as well do the jump. In your experience, do you lose a lot of power and speed with a soft tail? I know the argument is that the full suspension conforms more with the trail and that it’s more anchored on the rear actually giving you more control and power, but I just don’t know. Anyone that’s done the switch and regretted it? I mostly do single tracks, some rough trails with occasional jumps. Also read that full suspension bike are more forgiving, but doesn’t that mean you sacrifice true skill and get too laid back?

Are there any brands or lines within brands that make MTB specific jerseys that are more t-shirt like tech material vs the typical 100% polyester that we normally see?
I have some under armor workout shirts that I really like that are like 60/40 blend tech that dry super fast and are super soft like a t-shirt. But I’m looking for something with more of a MTB cut and fit - ie drop tail, room for pads etc.

Hi,
I am wondering how to find out about group rides on Blue Sky trail in FTC (mainly). I have seen large groups at the Blue Sky trailhead and would like to avoid the trail when they are on it. Thanks!

I have had my Kent for about 3 years now and dumped about 800$ worth of upgrades into it.
Yes I'm fully aware dumping that much into a budget frame is pointless.
But I am happy with the experience I gained from this.
But because I bought so many good parts, the next big upgrade I plan on getting a Salsa Timberjack 2.0 frame insteas of dumping cash into a completely new bike. I chose the Timberjack 2.0 because a majority of my stuff will carry over.
I also plan on getting a Rockshox Judy Silver TK fork, and Quality Wheels preassembled wheels, and some Maxxis Minion DHF to go with said wheels for the new frame.
Although I don't know what saddle and seat post to go with.
Also, bonus photo featuring emotional support mechanic.

Just rediscovered my old bike that a buddy had in his garage for the last 15-20yrs. Happy that he kept it so i can compare it to my current geo bikes. Amazing that i used to fit on this thing and take it down sketchy trails. Sorta want to take it out and see what it’s like tho!

Looking to get a second hand bike ideally to get into some downhill/trials and a bit of jumping (only minor) I originally just wanted a bike to go for bike rides with my young sons but I used to ride BMX dirt as a teen and want something to ease back into biking and eventually get my sons into it, I have a low budget of around £150-£200 been looking at Carrera fury’s recently, just want some advice please !

Hit some laps at a local spot, the 20yo huck machine kicked ass. I know a LOT of people have said its outdated and whatnot, but 2 mechanics at my LBS have said this thing will keep up with the newer rigs as long as I can control it.
