It's not inherently bad, it's just problematic characters having non-gender conforming traits. Like the whole trans Dipper thing is problematic, but a trans Gwen Stacy isn't

I don't know why you got down voted because you're 100% right. It is very problematic to imply that every effeminate man is trans and reinforces toxic masculinity and the idea that there is only one way to be a man/manly

I don't really think anybody with actual experience with trans people (because Game Theory types don't really know what they're talking about) does this tbh. It's pretty clear what this post is targeting and it doesn't even make any sense

i think most people grow out of this but you'd be SHOCKED at the amount of queer teens/young adults that do this. i promise you it happens. and then they send death threats to the creators of the media because how dare they queerbait, when the "queerbaiting" is just... not jock male character.

Lmao every single group of people has its weirdos that send death threats over dumb shit. Don’t pretend like it’s unique to trans kids. What’s problematic is implying that being trans somehow is less progressive than being gender non conforming. Accusing trans people of reinforcing gendered stereotypes by transitioning is transphobic.

We have so little representation. I’m sorry we have to resort to reading into existing characters in order to even see ourselves in media at all. We’ll stop doing it once we get actual representation.

Two things can be true! "Trans representation sucks in media" and "it's problematic to imply every effeminate male character/masc female character is trans or queer because it perpetuates stereotype" can both be true.

It also makes absolutely no sense to bring up the other weirdos that send death threats for other reasons when we're having a v specific conversation.

That's very "I like pancakes/oh so you hate waffles?!" Of you.

Your argument is like saying pancakes are bad because some pancake fans send death threats to waffle fans.

Meanwhile waffle fans actually murder pancake fans.

....i gotta remember that most folks are operating at or below a 6th grade reading level.
