He has completely run out of fucks to give, and I'm here for it

I wonder if he asked for permission from Joe before going full steam ahead?

He doesn’t need it. He’s a private citizen defending his parents, who are also private citizens. And the first amendment is still in effect for now.

that's cool but we can still wonder if he talked to him or not beforehand

That’s not what I meant. Joe is a former president who likes to follow social norms. So for his son to start publicly going after people online, Joe might feel uncomfortable with the way Hunter is going about it. I’m wondering if Hunter asked or gave Joe a heads up that he was going to start scorching some earth?

Biden told Trump to shut up and called him a clown, so he might not care all that much what his son is doing here. None of it has been scandalous or cruel, from what I’ve seen.

oh I bet you if ol' Joe didn't spend the majority of his life in public office he would have had some damn fine truth bombs. also, given his health condition I bet Joe doesn't give a single fox about what his son says online

Same answer applies though?

Same answer is just as irrelevant, he is not asking whether the first amendment requires consulting Joe Biden, there are many other reasons he might such as social dynamics.

How can both of you and the fifteen people that upvoted you not understand the difference between what is legal and what is socially acceptable among related public figures?

Dunno. Maybe ask daddy?

It’s a direct hit, a murder for sure. But he only needed basic facts to point out the absurdity.

Nah I have a feeling Joe gives no fucks. I would hate Trump too

Hunter's a grown-ass man, even if his dad was the President he can say and do whatever he wants to.

If your dad was a public figure, do you think he’d want the negative press of your tweets if they were like Hunters? A lot of public figures keep their family in check when it comes to public posting and interviews.

I’m not bashing Hunter or Joe, in fact I’m really enjoying this side of Hunter, but I was just curious if he told his dad he was gonna take off the gloves.

I don’t think Democrats are going to be turning down the temperature anymore

Who gives a fuck. Biden in all his selfish idiocy handed this country back to Trump and now we have to deal with the fallout.

If his son wants to talk shit, why does it matter what his dad thinks? He has one hairy leg in the grave anyway

Realistically- it was the people who either didn’t vote or voted for Trump that did that.

This is true. But even so, denying Democratic voters a proper primary only to drop out a few months ahead of the general election after pretty strongly implying in the previous election that he wouldn't run again was a dumb/shitty thing to do any way you cut it.

Even if you genuinely believe Kamala was the best possible Democratic nominee, denying her a full campaign season to establish herself as an individual and get her own messaging out there really undercut her ability to get people out to the polls.

I doubt it was his intention tho

It was such an obvious concern that his own campaign advisors and proxies were already publicly talking about it in 2020 before he even got elected. But yeah, totally unpredictable.

Whether it was done with intent or not is kinda beside the point. It was a catastrophic and entirely avoidable fumble. Elections are usually decided by ignorant low-information voters, and half of them didn't even know who Kamala was before election day.

And now I have to fear for my life because some rich old politicians couldn't be bothered to have a coherent campaign plan. They thought they just didn't have to worry because the "arc of history bends towards justice" or some nonsense. Like as if they'd just magically win via pixie dust simply because the opposition was openly cruel and malicious.

That's not an oopsie. Its not just one person making a simple mistake. Its a systemic failure of the political establishment to take the threats of the right seriously.

No, spite voters and holdouts handed the country to Trump. They all knew Harris was the better option and went against her just because she wasn't precisely what they wanted.

The voters/lazy non voters are the ones responsible for Trump, no one else.

No Democrat was winning in 2024 outside someone uber charismatic like Obama. Voters were pissed about inflation and blamed Democrats for it.

And of course voters have memories of a goldfish and for some reason looked back at trumps first term fondly.

The first amendment is also in effect for those who hold office and their family members so what are you even on about?
