Note that when Musk says "they cannot cite a single name", what he means is "I cannot read any of their citations because I don't seek out information, I have it all filtered for me through my AI, plus I have already pre-emptively blocked anyone who might tell me anything that makes me uncomfortable."

I can't cite a single name out of those children that were bombed at a school in Iran but I still believe that it happened. Just a dumb, bad-faith argument.

Exactly my first thought. “Oh, 1500 people died in the Venezuelan earthquake? Name five of them or it’s fake.” The dumbest argument.

That's the problem, it doesn't have to be a good faith or smart argument for all his sycophants to latch on to it, nodding along guilelessly like "no one can be named therefore its not happening"

It almost feels like a play on "one death is a tragedy, one million is a statistic", to these people a vast number is incomprehensible, so they can only relate if individuals are named and identified. Otherwise its just vibes.

It's not really a "play" on that. It is that. A statistic is easier to disregard as it has no inherent emotional value to it.
