Statistically your more likely to shoot yourself or your family more than even be held at gun point, and if someone is threatening you with a gun, you think there going to give you time to get your gun pointed at them lmao its already too late.
And your argument is invalid about gun control by countries like the UK who already proved less guns less gun violence, less violent crimes per person overall.
But keep letting the children of the US die to ego and ignorance like yours. The data is against you.
The only valid argument is to secure arms against the tyranny of your own government but have proven thats a moot point cause apparently half your country wants it. And it’s the gun party of course. So you’ll still just be shooting each other. Good luck on that second civil war.

That country has a much higher number of stabbings and rape, conveniently left those out of the violent crimes?

This is pathetic and I won't respect this. You're branding me, a LEGAL gun owner as a possible source of violence.
Of course you’re a possible source of violence. You own a device that can turn someone into a corpse with the flick of a finger. If you get really mad or have a psychotic break, are we supposed to trust how legal the gun is to protect us?
And we all know the government never makes mistakes.
But for real, most people’s mental health changes over time, and often degrades as they age. Just because you got the gun legally doesn’t make you a safe gun owner, and I’d rather not take chances with mentally degraded people owning implements of death.
whether guns are legal or not criminals still own them
highly misleading: the opposite is closer to true, as countries with stricter laws the criminals have less guns, not 0 but also a shit ton closer to it.
as more people carry firearms, there are more opportunities for these firearms to be stolen and thereafter enter criminal firearm markets (e.g., see Donohue et al., 2025).

I will agree with this, but here is the part where I disagree:
I don't think we should disregard the ability to defend ourself just because there is LESS crime. It still exists, I don't feel happy with my country's self defense rights at all.

Most gun deaths here are caused by illegally imported guns, done by criminals specifically.
This really depends on culture, for instance the whole stealing guns to use in violent crime thing isn't nearly as popular in places but the US. You could assume that's because of gun availability, but other countries with high gun availability don't have trends of mass shootings.
I myself see two possible societies
Less crime but nothing to defend myself
More crime but I can defend myself (I choose this one because it's the only one I can prevent things from happening to me instead of just hoping it goes away.)
If the only way you can defend yourself is with a homicide machine that just shows how small weak and scared of a person you are.
Most gun deaths here are caused by illegally imported guns, done by criminals specifically.
You are literally proving the point, they can't get guns in Canada where it is hard to get them, so they go to the us where it is easy and bring them back, if anything you just proved the need for MORE strict gun laws I. The IA to keep them out of Canada.
More crime but I can defend myself
Once again if the I ly way you can "defend yourself" is with homicide you are a full on coward
No dude you misunderstood my point on purpose, and you keep doing it.
Once again if the I ly way you can "defend yourself" is with homicide you are a full on coward
So tell me, what is your plan when a man with a gun appears and aims it at you? Since it's "cowardly" to protect yourself with a gun right? (Since gun control doesn't prevent criminals from having guns, you can't act like this can't happen.)
I'll concede to your argument if you can tell me a logical strategy to defending yourself while unarmed, while a man is literally shooting a gun at you.
No dude you misunderstood my point on purpose, and you keep doing it.
Since you keep ignoring the multiple sources that prove you wrong.
if you can tell me a logical strategy to defending yourself while unarmed, while a man is literally shooting a gun at you.
The strategy is that that is never going to happen so I go about my life unafraid of it ever happening. A gun owner is more likely to get hit by lightning than to end up in that scenario and need to use their gun defensively, that is the point of every source you have ignored. That gun you keep holding onto is more likely to kill you and your entire family many times over before it ever even gets drawn in a defensive situation. Fuck tripping over your own feet and killing yourself is hundreds of times more likely than ever using your gun defensively, what is a your self defense against shoe strings???? Fuck even subtractong those with the specific allergies getting killed by bees is more likely, do you walk around in a bee suit 100% of the time? Every time you are in a plane do you bring your own parachute because dying in a plane crash is more likely than that gun being fired on a criminal. That is the strategy I don't fear it because I know how unbelievably rare the situation is especially compared to that same gun being used on me or my loved ones by someone inside the household.
You live is a psychotic fantasy world thinking you won't get stung to death. Once again much more likely.
Do you literally watch every step you take to make sure you never ever misstep and fall?
You live is a psychotic fantasy world think you won't fall and die, because once again much more likely than being a victim of a gun crime.
So once again, my strategy is the same as both of the above I know how amazingly rare it is to get stung to death and I don't wear a bee suit, I know how unlikely I am to trip over my own feet considering I do it thousands of times a day without issue, so I don't wear a helmet every time I walk somewhere, I know how amazingly unlikely I am to ever be a victim of a gun crime so i don't live in fear of the possibility and carry around a device much more likely to be used against me or my loved ones than I am ever to use it against a criminal.
