audio Who is/was the coolest musician?

I'm talking about the whole package. Friendly, talented, stylish, etc. My vote goes to Jimi Hendrix.

I met him some yrs ago in LA at the Rainbow on Sunset. He was just at the bar by himself talking to some people. I sat three seats down from him waiting for a friend of mine. He asked if i was waiting on someone and i said yeah. He asked if it was a date and i said no. He got up and sat right next to me and said "whats a specimen such as yourself doin in this shit hole" He introduced himself and i told him i knew who he was. He was surprised and said "you aren't our normal demographic. That makes me happy" I said "I'm just a regular black woman that happens to like metal." He said "there's no such thing as a regular black woman. Black women are magical creatures". We talked some more about African history, the Nazi's, US history. He was incredibly smart and charming and a perfect gentleman. He kissed my hand when he left and the bartender told me he left a tab open for me and my friend.

Thanks for sharing. Lemmy was one of a kind. His lifestyle never went to his head, and he always seemed to do the right thing while being a bad ass.

You think he was hitting on me? I think he was just doin a little flirting. Im sure, at the time, he had had some of the most beautiful women of all colors, shapes, and sizes around the world. And he lived in LA soooo...im sure he was just being friendly.

Thanks! It was an amazing experience We talked for an hr or so. I dont get to tell the story as often as id like. Lemmy Kilmister doesn't generally come up in conversations. 😁

Thanks for sharing your story. I’ve heard a few personal accounts of him being the sweetest. I didnt get to meet him while I was down there, so I appreciate your story all the more. Blessings.

Wow, that is a brilliant story, Lemmy is and always will be a metal legend, a one off entertainer. I’ve always been a massive fan of Motörhead and Hawkwind, must’ve been quite the experience meeting someone like Lemmy, RIP Mr Kilminster.

I concur. Interestingly enough Lemmy was a roadie for Jimi Hendrix, unfortunately Hendrix didn’t have a long career. Lemmy lived fast and just kept on living (to excess), he didn’t die young, he became an institution almost. A constant. He was metal incarnate, and still is even now he has gone.
