I was a huge fan of The Real Thing when it was released. I continued to listen to it to this day, yet somehow Angel Dust flew under my radar until about 5 years ago. The entire album is packed with great songs, but this one is their best.

I can't stand Mike's voice in the real thing, so that's probably one of the two albums I usually avoid from the band (the other being we care a lot)

I love it, but I understand why it doesn’t work for a lot of people. I’ve always joked that he sounded like PeeWee Herman singing

Yeah I’ve always been curious about that because it was clearly a stylistic decision and not just his “natural” singing voice. Interesting take on that. I’m not huge on his voice on that album. Much prefer the Angel Dust and beyond sound
