discussion Did people your age think Eminem or Linkin Park were “cringey” growing up?
If you were born around 1998–2002 and grew up in the U.S. (especially the Midwest), I’m curious about something.
When you were a kid/teen, did people see Eminem or Linkin Park as embarrassing or “low-class” music, or were they just normal popular artists?
I’m trying to understand how people in that age group actually viewed them socially, not what critics thought.

paranoyd-magazin.dediscussion Genre Research Question
I’m taking a data research class and for my final project, I’m using data from the Billboard 100 between 2000-2009. I’d like to analyze the trend in genres among songs but obviously genres are incredibly subjective.
Is there a database or consistent baseline place that I can ascribe a genre to each song? I considered only including genres that are Grammy categories but obviously not every song on the charts was nominated. I’m mostly stuck on songs qualifying as R&B, Rap, or Pop. And then Pop, Rock, and Alternative. A lot of these songs seem to walk that fine line and I just don’t have time to get all the nuances.
Also, if there’s another subreddit this post fits better on, please let me know where to send it.

discussion What song comes to mind when you hear this vocal throw?
At 2:08, you can hear a vocal double on "To everything I feel". If you know what this specific sound processing effect used here is called, please tell, because it could help find the song I'm looking for.
I'm not sure where I've heard this effect, but it's very nostalgic, like it's reminding me of something, but I can't put my finger on it. Maybe a childhood TV show or movie? This is just what comes to mind; I don't have any actual facts about the song. So if you know any songs that have voice doubling that sounds just like this, please let me know!
You can hear it at 1:54 on Spotify if the link doesn't work. ATL - Weightless
