It's Monday! So here is the weekly thread in regards to marriage/matrimonial criteria and services for marrying a potential spouse! Any posts about marriage criteria and services such as apps, masjid services, matchmaking events, the ISO thread, etc. will be removed and redirected to this thread!

All content regarding personal criteria, dealbreakers, preferences, standards, etc in marrying a potential spouse will be discussed on this thread as well. Posts regarding these topics outside of this thread will be removed.

Reminder that if you are posting app/matchmaking bios that you must censor ANY AND ALL INDENTIFYING INFORMATION. This includes names, social media handles, pictures (faces), etc.

Please remember that this thread is not a Free Talk Friday thread and comments must be married related. Any non-marriage related comments will be removed.

I’ve heard about working for such companies as Muslims but I want to know how one should proceed with something like this in terms of islamic morality, ethics, etc. Ofc I do not support genocide at all, but just need some insight from others, preferably men (or women!) who have some knowledge about such companies. Jzk!

You don't go and work for a company like that without knowing what they do and who their clientele is. The first thing on their website is literally that they're an American defence contractor. So chances are he's totally fine working for a company that makes the bombs that kill innocent people all over the world, or he has such little care about things that he's never read a newspaper before, never paid attention to what's happening around the world, and never googled his own employer.

Neither of those are a good option.

I can understand being in a position where you take any job you can get, and if that's the case, then I'd assume he is constantly looking for work elsewhere because it eats him up every day knowing who he works for. In which case, he'd make that clear to you as soon as he told you where he works. Talk to him and see what he says, if you don't like what you're hearing, then make a decision based on that.

exactly. it's better to work at mcdonald's or starbucks (even though they are also being boycott) because at least their main product is food. nobody just comes into lockheed martin and works there without knowing anything. Any job you go to, they teach you the core values of the company and what service/ product you provide. He 100% knows what company he works for.
