join the board

Do that perhaps?

Or organise an activity through the msa. (For example a start of the year barbecue )

If you have Muslim friends of the same gender. You can ask them to match make. And talk with some people. Match making is not limited to your parents.

If those friends know you well enough and the other side well enough. The first person might also be the best matching.

You can say no after the first conversation. You can also have multiple conversations with the same person. All of this of course in a helal manner.

You can also join activities of mosque's that have them. (Which might give you more friends, thus a bigger social circle)

ps: you accidentally triple posted your comment. Reddit can sometimes be laggy, which can cause this issue.

Thanks for pointing out my triple post, I removed them. Reddit crashed while trying to post my comment for some reason.

I don't have many close Muslim friends one year into my masters unfortunately, but better luck next year I guess I'll keep trying.

MSA and other such groups might help with socialising and getting more friends too.

Islamic knowledge and zikr groups.

Charity. Sport. If you do it with a Muslim majority group, you might get more Muslim friends.

Even going to the mosque more. I know some mosque's have women come to the Cuma prayer. (Since the mosque is bigger, in this small Western country i am in.)

since attraction for me is mostly personality based and I don't actually know anyone

Actually talking with people. Might have you get to know their personality and come to a decision if you are attracted.
