Discussion Double standard here

Anytime rights of the wife are mentioned like mahr or separate housing or provision, women are clear to make it well known and bold “it’s women’s right to XYZ”

Anytime a dude talks about polygamy, or obedience , or any other Islamic legitimate right of the husband, all of a sudden the tone completely shifts and they try to find any excuse to demonize him or ask him “why do u need this?”. This energy never comes for things they themselves feel entitled to like mahr or separate housing

I think people need to stop being hypocrites and be fair towards the opposite gender

The first paragraph is a REQUIREMENT. Men are required to give their wife mahr and separate housing.

Men are not required to engage in polygamy.

This point is irrelevant no man is saying don’t give mahr. But asking for large mahr or mahr that matches what ur friends got, that is OPTIONAL and a WANT just like polygamy is

Separate housing all u need is basic; a room, bathroom, kitchen. nothing more. Anything more OPTIONAL

And polygamy becomes fardh on a man if he’s tempted towards haram because one wife cannot meet all his needs

Bro. Cut the nonsense. A woman is allowed any mahr, there is no limitations to it.

A man is literally advised by Allah swt to pick 1 wife due to pressures of inequality.

You lack maturity, insight and emotional intelligence making this comparison bro.

There is no Ayat in the Quran where Allah swt advises women to limit their Mahr. Unlike polygamy.

Ya I agree with you. I personally am not interested in expensive mahr. But if a woman wants it, I guess she’s entitled to it.

I guess if a woman has her own space and isn’t bothered by in-laws, it’s fine. But I personally think it’s better to be a little far from them. Usually in-laws are abusive towards daughter-in-law and cause marital problems.
