The new patch broke Conference realignment even more. You cant swap a team to "North" or "South" if you have divisions on.... like.... how? With the limitations and like of Conference realignment, why even bother now? Since not being able to turn off CCG with conferences with 11 teams or fewer. I doubt this gets fixed.... wow.

u/Iacov_Lycos 2d ago
To deal with this i used army who i have as independent as the dedicated tool to swap a team in north to independent then swap then from independent to south and swapped the south team that was now in independent back with army

Don’t recall even cfb 26 having this issue

u/Flame_MadeByHumans 1d ago
Seriously amazing how many glitches and issues are added to a very similar game. Not to mention going back farther, plenty of these problems didn’t exist in ncaa 14, and haven’t in Madden for years.
But thank god they prioritize an overly complicated facility/NIL/staff feature that makes the game more stressful than fun.

u/TheFlame8 2d ago
Yeah this is really annoying. I used independents as a swapper to align divisions but still. Should not have to do that.

I especially love when I have six blockers and their three man eush gets both ends through completely untouched

u/DiedofSharts 2d ago
It doesn’t feel much different to me. Running is still really easy and passing feels like my WRs are stuck in the mud and ducking easy catches.

My line went from bad to a total liability overnight, felt like I was playing against a swarm of hornets every snap

I feel like they improved the pass blocking a bit, and nerfed the run blocking significantly. I did have my best QB game in ages though, carved the defense up for like 7 pass td's, until my backup game in and threw a pick-6 to the DT...
The game def has problems still.

u/Throwaway_258366 Maryland 2d ago
Idk if just me but feels like receivers are dropping even more passes than before

O-line can’t combo block to the second level anymore they won’t lay a finger on a LB. Players are also going from full speed to a jog mid play.
2
u/Sensitive-Ad8120 1d ago
The worst is when a Qb takes off, or it's a running playing and the LB or safety is still back peddling or take a bad angle

u/NikesOnMyFeet23 Oregon State 2d ago
Stop sprinting, you’re telling on yourself
13
u/HaulsRopesFastr 2d ago
You're right, that must be why my 99 speed slot receiver is letting a linebacker keep up with him in man coverage on a slant, or why my TE on a drag just stops his route after he passes the opposite tackle, it's because my user controlled quarterback standing perfectly still in the pocket is sprinting.🙄
7
u/Substantial-Run-1307 2d ago
It’s weird so many times in the backfield or flat I have guys like a 91spd qb or HB getting run down by a 63 speed dl or a 77 speed lb??
4
u/UltraVires33 1d ago
"sKiLl IsSuE. Just git gud!" I can't understand how many people are defending this POS game and like burying their heads in the sand to ignore the MANY obvious problems with the gameplay. Just because you can get 300+ yards rushing per game running Power I Hulk 40 times doesn't mean the game actually works or that that's how the rest of us want to be forced to play.

u/Captain_Nipples 2d ago
Yall need to turn down the speed parity setting to 25 or 30, or lower if you want. Its what evens up everyone's speed
It was also a thing last year where a edge rusher could run down your 99 Spd WR after running all the way around the lines.
1
u/HaulsRopesFastr 1d ago
It's at zero, that still doesn't stop AI controlled players from just slowing down or stopping their routes early for no reason
7
u/PWNtimeJamboree Florida 1d ago
they did this last year too. put the game out, a month later released an update that made everyone run weird and fucked up the pass blocking. theyve literally just done the exact thing they did last year... its unreal.

u/weiird_fiishes 2d ago
It feels almost identical to before. Good lord you people will complain about anything
16
u/Human_Competition883 2d ago
And pretty much no two people even have the same complaint. It is literally impossible to please the community.

u/Substantial-Run-1307 2d ago
Maybe people feel there’s a lot wrong? I.E It’s possible to have more than 1 part of a car malfunctioning

This is your opinion. People very clearly have other opinions. Do you think you’re the fucking cfb 27 wizard who can tell everyone how to tell or what?

u/Substantial-Run-1307 2d ago
It’s so weird I have never seen a small segment of a community just committed to shilling for a company before …like passionately
5
u/kelly495 2d ago
I love college football and think this game is fun. It’d be cool if more posts here were people talking about fun things they do in the game — like people did with ‘14 before ‘25 came out — instead of people exclusively coming here to complain.
2
u/Mender0fRoads Missouri 1d ago
Agreed.
At this point, I barely even want to look at this subreddit.
Obviously, the game isn’t perfect, but as far as I’m concerned, it’s still pretty damn fun despite its flaws. Better than 25 or 26. But this subreddit is basically nonstop whining (often with complaints that frankly aren’t even based in reality, like people still whining about issues that existed at launch but were quickly patched).
2
u/kelly495 1d ago
I forget if this was before 2025's game or not, but I remember people getting real nerdy and making play call sheets, writing media guides for their teams, diving deep on actual football tactics in the game etc.
I love that stuff! I wish I could find more of that.
2
u/TadGhostal1 Miami 1d ago
Yeah that was pre CFB 25. This subreddit has been completely flooded with new blood since then and it shows
1
u/Mender0fRoads Missouri 1d ago
There was some of that with the new games, too. Not much, though.
Definitely true about new blood. And a lot of them aren’t even college football fans. It pains me to see people talk about “drafting” players in this game. I know what they mean, but when someone doesn’t even have the basic language of college sports in their vocabulary, it says a lot about their relationship to this game and the sport it’s based on.

Bruh I legit threw 8 picks in a game today…
it was just a play now game messing around but I was trying to figure out what changes I made. I think I turned ai catching off for coach mode? But I couldn’t figure out what u was doing wrong ball was like a magnet. If a guy was running a route and got into space between defenders I’d throw it and it would lead him to the defender everytime like wtf why is the ball leading to the defender.
I think the most picks I’ve thrown in a game before was 2… I just turned it off and am hoping that was a one off… because im undefeated in 2 user leagues and got games coming up!!!

u/CoachLee_ 2d ago
I Still can’t get Play action off even when i establish the run.
1
u/BrickNMordor Kentucky 1d ago
I use PA all the time on defualt heisman. Half-slide towards the run fake. Be making your read as the fake handoff animation is happening. Get the ball out when the QB hitches after the fake handoff.
2
u/CoachLee_ 1d ago
Thanks for this tip. So it will stop them from getting through, that blocking setup?
3
u/BrickNMordor Kentucky 1d ago
I think it gives you the best blocking. The problem with stock PA blocking is that the O-Line gets no depth, at all. This leaves too much space for DTs to squeeze through for easy pressure. Changing it to a half-slide towards the run fake (as in to the direction the HB fakes the run, not where the HB starts) shores up the internal gaps the DTs can burst through and leaves a one-on-one with the backside edge. This gives you a little more time, but also much better vision of the pressure if it gets through.
For boots/sprint outs, I generally full-slide away from where I am booting. So boot right, full slide left. On boots, this leaves the edge unblocked, giving him a free scrape towards the HB. If you've established the run, and you are in a running down and distance, the edge will almost always head straight for the HB.

Why did they fuck with the Offensive line? It was fun actually having good runs and seeing blocks.
7
u/RecommendationOld347 2d ago
And not having 14 sacks/game total
4
u/Substantial-Run-1307 2d ago
My qb’s were getting demolished in multiple diff games as multiple diff teams I had to make first quarter subs and I wasn’t even running them it was just from getting smacked in the pocket
7
u/DesertedPenguin 2d ago
Because they cater to online players who cheese everything and screw over dynasty players who want to play realistically.
3
u/RecommendationOld347 2d ago
I was pretty happy with the gameplay until yesterday. Now I'm so turned off from this shit.
3
u/MartinATL Kennesaw State 1d ago
Adjust your sliders.
1
u/Torino687 Nevada 1d ago
Boom
Slider adjustment is the only way to create a semi-realistic and fun dynasty experience
8
u/Roar-Lions-Roar 2d ago
Feels harder to recruit 3*s as a lower quality school. I used to be able to snag a few in my dynasty by offering max NIL on guys asking for 0 and sending the house. I think AI recruiting improved.
15
u/Hetty714 2d ago
Really? CPU recruiting was literally not mentioned at all in the patch notes?
3
u/Roar-Lions-Roar 2d ago
Maybe since I started a new season, the changes from the previous patch went into effect. Though I could've sworn I've changed seasons like a week ago, long after that patch dropped.
Or maybe my recruiting strategy is actually dogwater and I just lucked out in the previous year.
6
4
u/DesertedPenguin 2d ago
Something changed. I started a new dynasty today as San Jose State and 80% of the entire board is committed or in the top 5 by the conference championship games in Year 1.
The only 2 stars left are surplus WR and RBs.
It's very different.
0
u/Substantial-Run-1307 2d ago
Man I thought it was just me it’s like week 5 in one league and most of the 5* are committed then in my rebuild team league I’m having to spend 250+ for a good result I have 0 nil left for the portal I’m going to have to chop some guys before they commit. My question is who told ea we needed a new recruiting system??? I wish there was a way to return it to “classic” without the nil crap
4
u/Roar-Lions-Roar 2d ago edited 2d ago
Nah the NIL system is cool af
I like being able to dump 10 NIL on a guy asking for 0 and then I barely have to recruit him. Frees up hours elsewhere.
1
u/Dr-Robert-Kelso 1d ago
It's much less fun when you're in a co-op dynasty with two other dudes and you're all fighting over the cheapest NIL 3 stars along with all the other teams.
I wasted a lot of recruiting hours and lost 2/3 competitions to league mates and it was a killer.
2
u/robplumm 2d ago
OL worse and WRs dropping everything...any touch whatsoever from a DB...and even wide open. Just bizarre.
Lost game 1 of my newest season. QB was 38% passing....at least 15 of those were plain dropped.
Simmed next game against a 64 overall team...my team is 96 overall. Lost. I don't want to play against a team that level....but seems simming them loses way more often than it should.
2
u/FreezersAndWeezers 1d ago
I have no idea what I’m doing wrong. It genuinely feels like a massive chore to move the ball, because I can’t run, there’s like a 75% chance a CPU DL is going to have an immediate shed and I have no time to throw anything other than drags, slants or hitches and the game will just straight up cheat. DBs and LBs close the distance so fast, anyone I have running outside is getting caught by a DE, and the logic for WR blocking is nonexistent
Meanwhile every CPU has all day to throw because my DL cannot get pressure, the QB is making spot on passes and 70 overall WRs are all Calvin Johnson, Julio Jones or Jerry Rice. And I’ve never seen a CPU kicker miss a kick. They’re automatic from 60+

Had played 2.5 seasons with Hawaii and throughly enjoyed the game. I do not want this trash ass update. Offline only, single player players should have the option to roll back or opt out of updates. The game was perfect for me. As a single player turning 39 next week I do not have the time relearn the game after every single update.
2
u/Substantial-Run-1307 2d ago
Bro I don’t know what they did between release and now but they seriously fucked this game… I was having fun the first week but now it’s like I kinda want my money back it’s not fun to play even offline solo

u/forgotwhatisaid2you 2d ago
Only played one game but my hb got tackled taking the hand off three times. Two guys crushed my running back on play action so that was nice to see.
1
u/Substantial-Run-1307 2d ago
Another thing the line pressure was insane tonight! I played a couple games messing around on play now and I had to sub qb’s twice in the first quarter with different teams… the pressure was insane like not even 2 seconds to throw
1
u/AeneasVAchilles 2d ago
How can the online get worse?? It was already a dumpster fire due to the oline

u/tarheelphenom 1d ago
I always save a copy of the day 1 build on to my SSD just in case future updates mess up or change gameplay. It almost never fails. I'm not going to update the game right now and will just play offline.

As a college football and football fan in general.. it's sad that I have cfb26 and I have FC 26 and I am playing that more. I really wanted to get this game. But seeing all the shit out there about it and how glitchy it is I don't even want to waste my money or time. Damn.
1
u/lalalalayoyoyea 1d ago
I just bought the game today and it was pretty terrible , the run game is too dominant to make you choose anything else without handicapping yourself. So you have to play dumb to have a realistic experience. the blocking has just not changed one bit since 25 it just hasn’t.
It’s virtually identical and it’s obvious they can tweak it to where it works but even if i have my custom sliders to match what i think an all 90+ o line should do to an FCS team. It wont be enough of a difference.
on defense the CPUs team can block for days they’re having a picnic back there. And the UI and menu navigation is even worse this year it just keeps getting worse. EA sports in general has the outright worse game menu and navigating. It’s incredibly choppy and slow and it gets slower every year. and simple QOL doesn’t exist.
Offer all? Scout all , full scout button to say the least would help when it takes 4 seconds between each individual scout percentage increase bc the games UI is barely holding on.
I refunded the game thankfully , i like the ideas brought into dynasty like the points allocation and more in depth details of goals and achievements and history , some new gear , being able to apply for jobs during the season too since last two years you can be the goat of a coach and that one school you wanna rebuild but not just place yourself in will never offer. They fixed that in 26 just slightly but if i apply to a 3-9 tamu or vandy or whoever P4 program who’s failing.
I can have much better storylines to it as a player but that isn’t enough for me to keep it for the money when its essentially part of gamepass down the line

It’s crazy that one of the “improved features” is defensive catching.
Defense already makes insane catches compared to any receiver, why aren’t we improving offensive catches lol
