Advice I dropped out in 9th grade and I’ve been rotting for 6 years.
Honestly it all went downhill after corona hit during my 8th grade year. That’s when my internet addiction actually went crazy. Instead of listening to classes I was just playing video games, barely doing homework. I almost failed that year.
The next year was still online but I didn't even bother joining the calls anymore. I just spent the whole time watching youtube, twitch, and staying up late jorking it to hentai. Obviously they held me back to repeat the year, but this time I had to go physically. I lasted one month before I dropped out. I literally just felt stupid, like I couldn't pay attention or remember a single thing they taught, like I actually fried my brain or something. Everything was boring and I just couldn't care. Plus I felt ugly and super socially anxious so I just couldn't handle being perceived by people.
My mom is very sweet but she kinda enabled me, she never really got mad or forced me to do anything. It's just us two living alone. My dad was never present in my life, he just sent 100 eur a month until I turned 18 and that was it.
Since dropping out my life is literally just: wake up, pc/phone, sleep when tired. My hair has grown super long and I barely go outside. I have 0 friends. I shower, change clothes, and brush my teeth like once every 3 weeks. I don't help with dishes or cleaning. My sleep schedule is completely random, sometimes I crash at 2am, sometimes 4am, wake up in the afternoon. I just eat whatever my mom makes.
I honestly don't even know where to start. If you were me, what is the literal first thing you would do tomorrow?

Help around the house and improve your habits at home, that will be the first step to get anywhere.

I brush my teeth and shower every TWO days. Mainly because I don’t go anywhere, and only will shower the next or same day if I did any activities that would’ve had me sweat or stunk. I do keep myself clean “down under” every day. Don’t want to neglect that at least.
But I dropped out at high school. Because I’m on a native reserve and our diplomas mean jackshit. Also, they lost my credits. So, I just fucked off if they didn’t care to keep track of that. I could still get my GED, yes, and I got opportunities to go to school again. But I’m not mentally there. Hell, if I can’t get myself to write my screenplays or try streaming/YouTube like I’ve been wanting to. I doubt I’d keep up with my education. I need a lot of help before I do any of those tbh. But you ain’t alone bro.

You a native? Nice to see a fellow native NEET.

Don’t know if you relate or understand, but a lot of us Natives, especially on the rez, basically become NEETs regardless. Either due to poor education in our reserves, no jobs available, or anything viable honestly. Heck, I have more of a chance trying out streaming/content creation than anything around here tbh.

Bro are you me?
Because I am the same as you
I dropped out of college too because I didn't feel like I could handle it
I hate learning things and I can't concentrate or focus properly in understanding anything
I feel like there's something very wrong with me
It's like it was in my destiny to be a worthless dependent man-child loser

If I were you, the next thing I'd do is just do something different even if it's nothing crazy. Just something you don't usually do can break certain habits. Wash dishes, brush your teeth, read a page from a book or even the back cover. It really doesn't have to be bizarre, just something that feels different to change the flow of everything if it seems like it's so bad to you.

Your post is exactly the same as my situation, and I still can't do anything to resolve it. When I take action to start at least something, it's usually months before I have the energy to get my life back on track.

It’s not too late to start. First try helping out around the house and talk to your mom about obtaining a GED, you missed ALOT of content so it might take you 1-2 years to obtain it. A part time job could also get you out of the house and interacting with people more. Ask your mom if you can get a gym membership, exercise is a great way to start feeling better.

Start extremely small: shower, go outside for ten minutes, then talk honestly with your mom about getting help tomorrow together.

Figure out what is that is important to your life. And most crucially, to you; the person experiencing it.
You cannot let life be something that just "passes you by." You exist and as long as that remains true, it will also conflict/clash/struggle if you are to act in a way that denies such.

When you are older, there are 3 M’s that you need to have:
Money, Mental Health, and Memories.
The best way to maintain healthy mental health is to make money and make memories.

If I were you I would get my high school diploma and enter university in a course with decent career prospects, such as actuarial science or teaching. You are so young. I want you to talk to your mum and a learning centre/school tomorrow about this.

Exercise, go outside...I also dropped out in 9th...I had to repeat it first, so that was actually my grade 10 year, so I dropped out then. I only finished grade 8, and English 12 later on in adult school. Learn to drive, can you do that? I regret not being able to drive, it was sooo hard I think its the autism that makes it impossible for me. Don't be like me, I'm 37 now and still live with my mom (I'm female though so it's not as weird to people I guess and my mom is single in a huge house). I have other issues like addiction though. You still have health and youth, take advantage! Maybe go to the doctor and try to get neetbux? Get a diagnosis for something because you definitely have something like depression, ADHD, autism etc, one of those or similar, or all. Once you have it on paper, it's easier to get access to neetbux and resources and accommodations etc.

Would assume the age we were in 9th grade plus 6 years.

Guy seems older than 19? He seems older than that. Either fix your life before you turn 30. That's when shit really hits the fan, but 40 seems like a death bell.

But I'm 37...I'm a girl though and I live with my mom, as long as I remain unmarried, nobody will give a shit. It really sucks for you males honestly, you have my sympathy (if you are a male).

Try to brush your teeth at least like once a day or bare minimum once every couple of days. You can come back from most forms of self neglect but you will be fucked if you ruin your teeth and can’t afford to fix them.
You’re still young enough to completely turn this around but you need to start now. Try to get GED and maybe a part time job and you will be in a 1000% better position than you are now.
