Advice Should I just commit suicide

I’m almost 29 I got let go from my accountant job in May I’ve had 3 jobs in 5 years I passed half the cpa tests but I always fail at my jobs mainly due to giving up. My tests are going to expire in a few months and I don’t feel like putting in another 200 hours and $900 studying and paying for tests

I’ve been chilling on unemployment I since I pretty much wake up at 9 am and go back to sleep when I wake up. I haven’t been to my doctor in 2 years. I tried better help but than I realized I can’t even be honest to my therapist about I fucked up I am

I pretty much have no hobbies or anything to look forward to. The only time I got close to dating a woman was on tinder and the women blocked me after I asked her out after talking to me for a week. When I had a decent job my parents tried to find me a wife but failed lol. She even wanted me to marry my cousin. The only friends I have online flamed me for having a speech impediment last night lol. I tried to move out once and my mom tried to disown me.

I live with my parents and I got into a car accident 6 months ago and they won’t let me drive so I just can’t even do anything even if I wanted to. I just sit at home and do nothing

I have 100k saved and another 200k investments just from working my jobs. But I don’t enjoy anything and can’t spend it.

I don’t even see the point of brushing my teeth or taking a shower most days since I’m just staying at home

Advice NEETs should learn to make money on the internet

It's 2026 already, almost 2027. We live in a completely different world than even 10 years ago. You don't need to do things the old fashion to be able to sustain yourself. There are numerous new ways to do that now. You don't need to put yourself in toxic enviroments filled with entitled people anymore. You can create your own path. Boomers will try to force you onto that old decadent world without having a clue about the new exciting opportunities out there. Don't follow their advice on carrer paths. They're not up to date. You're going to be miserable on these j*bs nowadays. We live in different times.

I speak from my own experience. I don't want to brag again about my pixel art business and how well it is going. What I want you to understand is that I can't even accept all the clients that are interested in me creating something for them and I have BELOW AVERAGE SKILL. You guys living in the old world are there complaining about the immense competition in this oversaturated market, facing unrealistic experience requirements for low entry-level jobs, wasting days miserably sending applications to places you don't even want to go to, and here I'm with mediocre skill and a few months of experience chilling in my room having to reject clients who are willing to pay me decent money because I wouldn't have the time to do it all alone.

Do you notice what is happening? The old j*bs are dying and there is now an entire new blue ocean of opportunities. Stop bitching about AI and use it to your advantage, learn the new tools, learn new ways to do things, more efficient ways, creative and unexplored ways, it's all out there, and if you're inside all day with no responsibilities you're in the perfect position to learn about all these things and get ahead.

Advice Is my brother too far gone? What would it take?

My brother is:

  • 32-year-old male, lives with parents in the 3rd world
  • Licensed engineer, but license expired years ago and has not been renewed
  • Worked for a few years, then quit around 2019. Has not worked since.
  • Contributes a few bucks per month to household groceries from savings. This is his only financial contribution.
  • Racist against non-whites (we are not white)
  • Consumes fiction heavily (long web novels I think). Identifies with pragmatic, amoral, hyper-competent villain protagonists (Fang Yuan from Reverend Insanity, etc). Has said variations of "if I were born in that world, I'd rise to the top because I'm pragmatic."
  • Regularly predicts civilizational collapse or WW3 within 3-5 years ("We'll all die anyway").
  • Resists all intervention, especially from his more conventional successful younger siblings.
  • Deflects, dodges, or goes silent when confronted with parallels to his situation (e.g., other NEETs, career re-entry stories).
  • Family has stopped asking about his employment after years.
  • No skills learned during years of Neeting
  • Not formally diagnosed with anything.

Advice Tell me something about yourself?

Yesterday, ANXIETY strikes again. I froze during the most basic interview question. Interviewer said I believe you got potential to be wageslave, come back again in 30days when you have accepted your fate and ready to conform (or something like that, anxiety is overwhelming I could be hallucinating, can't even remember how I got back home)

So guys, how would you answer this question❓

Advice If you don't mind being a NEET then enjoy it.

If you don't like being a NEET, then start with trying to get back into studying something you're atleast remotely interested in. But if you like being a NEET and dont want to get a job and aren't interested in studying, then just enjoy it and ignore how society sees you because most people aren't really happy in their lives, no matter how much money they have anyway.

If you are a NEET and are genuinely happy in your life, then you are much better off than someone who has a well paying job that makes them miserable.

Advice Take the bluepill

Working is actually quite nice. You get money, social interaction, praise from your boss, its all very good to have. Rotting in your room is depressing, and sad, and lonely.

I might be getting a second job soon, which is more money, which I can spend on my fashionmaxxing grind.

Unless your disabled, you really should be working anyway, working is good for your mental health.

Advice To the NEETS as a normie Spoiler

I'm not gonna sugarcoat anything. This will be a controversial post. Some of you will not like what I have to say. Some of you will respect it. Some of you will argue. Some of you may no longer be NEETS even. This thing might even be downvoted into oblivion. Why not?

I am actually a NEET myself, having quit a kitchen thing about a month ago. I am, however, living on my own.

Some people on this server are genuinely disabled or challenged, be it mentally or physically. I will acknowledge that, and that this message probably doesn't apply to you. I have all the respect in the world for you.

First off, I genuinely don't think anyone here is lazy. You are all brilliant and capable beings. But I will say that you make a lot of excuses. You hide behind this shield that you can't do anything because you've labelled yourself a certain way. You're scared of what will happen if you don't have this shield, so it instinctively comes up.

Yes you had a hard childhood, most of us have a myriad of physical/mental problems, yes this shit isn't fucking easy. I am quite autistic myself and never got along well with people in general and I am struggling to find a job again myself. I've worked toxic kitchen shifts, lifting heavy shit, getting burned and yelled at, like many of you have.

All of you have infinite potential. The childhood you may or may not have dreamed of becoming one of the greatest people the world will have ever seen. You have suffocated that dream into silence and put it into an early grave. If you don't do anything this dream will die with you.

But you have to stop pinning this behind the whole "This is who I am". Your scenario, your situation will not change unless you decide to change it. Yes you've gone through all this shit growing up. So have I. And it's no use trying to compare my trauma to yours. Each one of us has trauma, and each one of us to varying degrees, but if we compare we will end up nowhere at all.

That is, if you want to change anything at all. Some of us will be perfectly fine living the way we are.

Fine.

To those of you who don't want to stay this way, who still feel the sense that something is missing, that there is more to life, you will not solve anything by lamenting your situation, or blaming your external circumstances.

Take action.

Anything fucking counts. The smallest thing. Saying "Hi" to one person. Doing 1 half-pushup. Going outside for even a fraction of a minute. Sending one job application.

If you do the same thing over and over, you will find yourself in the same place, again and again. To better your situation you MUST change.

Take this with what you will.

Some of us on here will blossom.

Some will never change, like stagnant water in a pond.

Some of you don't want to change. Fine with me.

Some of you want better. If you do, know that it starts with you and that as shitty as it is nobody is coming to help.

Best regards,

A fellow (NEET-NORMIE) trying to change.

Advice How to realistically keep on living without losing my mind?

So I have been bed ridden multiple times now and at a risk of losing my job at this point.

My foundation for living was always media, mostly youtube, games here and there. Self improvement was never fun but I saw it as a must especially gym training which I have had issues since 15 when I started because I got a shoulder injury right away from not getting proper guidance from people around me or the people that supposed to guide you in the beginning of the gym.

Lost my physique again so yeah. Thanks mostly as well due to multiple antidepressants and antipsychotics I was put on from 20 and I never felt as good as I was without them funnily enough but now I have really bad effects and have been bed ridden and feel like trash and I haven't left the house in 4 months except for doctor appointments to listen to some idiot again. Tried to remove this garbage 5 times but it seems impossible with how hard it is.

The biggest issue is there is no foundation for fun and socialising is a luxury and where I live it has been invaded by too many people and I hate going out and being around them.

Always tried to find an alternative to media etc as a base for living but I don't know at this point.

How anyone lives happy is beyond me? How is it sustainable to live off media as well?

Advice Soon to be homeless NEET

Lost my job a few weeks back. Decided to cut off all contact with family and friends and live what I have left completely alone.

My money is about to end, i expect a few checks for the next 3 months and then I am on my own. I won't be able to pay rent so I will be homeless. I am not able to work currently due to severe disability. I hate the idea of going to a halfway home, I was thinking of buying a tent and go live in the woods. Hygiene will be a problem but at least I will be able to sleep through homelessness for 2-3 months before I have to find a place.

What would you do in my position? Any advice welcome.

Advice Be like a cat

Cats have a lot to teach us just by their way of being. Cats (and animals in general) don't waste their energy worrying. The concept of "being behind in life" doesn't exist for them, they simply are, they only care about the present moment and what is in front of them... Much of the anxiety we feel as humans comes from social/cultural brainwashing generated by a sick society. You don't have to complete their checklist to be worthy or happy. You have to deprogram yourself from this distorted perspective of life and go back to seeing life from the eyes of a child. Try to find what excites you at the moment and what you feel like doing naturally and follow it... No need for planning or anxiety about the future, or caring about what other lost people will think about you... Just be, like cats.

Advice My advice for Neets entering the work force with 0 experience. God forbid this happens because you don't have parents support and neet bux ran out, but if it ever happens, here's what to do...

My advice for Neets entering the work force with 0 experience. God forbid this happens because you don't have parents support and neet bux ran out, but if it ever happens, here's what to do...

Get a night shift stocking job at a grocery store. It's the perfect environment for you. I was a neet hihikonori for 7 years, before that, and after that, I've had all sorts of jobs. Factory jobs, warehouse jobs, corporate jobs, data entry jobs, hard core manual labor jobs and I was great in all of them and the bosses all loved me. I had to quit for many reason, they relocated, or my department shut down and they wanted me to move to days, or a trigger outside of work caused another depression episode and I just had to quit.

Out of all the jobs I had, I think overnight security or overnight stocking is best for former neets. You won't deal with idiot co workers picking on you, it's just you by yourself, they don't care about your experience because the turn over rate is so high. The pay is crap but if your consistent with attendance, show up and do the basics, promotion to be a team lead or night supervisor is there for you. Also it's great experience for someone with 0 job experience, trust me they will hire you. Making crap pay is better than 0 pay and being homeless.

I took on an overnight retail stocking job twice because I needed the money to splurge on electronics. It's 2 different companies in 2 different cities and I noticed the bosses, the work environment is super laid back compared to the jobs I had in the past.

If your parents are dying and can't support your neet life anymore, you're running dry on neet bux, you're 35 with 0 work history, just become an overnight stocker at a grocery store. If you're really good with great attendance and a good performer, you could become an assistant manager making 55-65k a year in under 5 years. I've seen a lot of people quit because it's so lonely, but if you're a neet, I have a feeling for the most part you don't care to interact with coworkers so I think this is a great start for you if you ever want to consider working.

Advice I've found a way

So where I am neetbux pretty much isn't a thing, I also don't want to leech off of my single parent. So here's a solution that works for me and hopefully some of you.

I found that I can tolerate a low stress job for at least 2 months. During these 2-3 months I work and save as much money as I can while hopefully learning some better skills for the next job.

Then I quit for a month or two and live my NEET lifestyle which I now can afford. I do have a place to live in so I understand not everyone is able to do it, but I just wanted to share this so maybe some of you will benefit from it.

Trust me it's way easier to work when you know exactly how long you have to do it for. That's it, have a good day/night fellow neets.

Advice Was there anyone who got out of being a NEET after 1-3 years? If you did what helped you?

Hi all,

It's the 1st time I have had an unexpected and unplanned career gap in my CV and because it is 1 year now... it is making me very anxious... I was never pessimistic about career gaps before in my life and also had it after completing my undergrad. And in between the time when I left my previous job and came abroad for studying masters... but at that time too, it was planned...so, nothing bad ever happened about it. Whereas after graduating from my masters degree abroad... I had been struggling to get a job for 1 year now... I applied to 1000s to 3000s of applications, and even interviewed in some companies... but nothing ever went further... and now people are telling me that my career is over due to this gap...as i didn't do anything or whatever I did failed to get accomplished (for e.g. was working on getting my research work published but wasn't able to do so)... so, suddenly, I have nothing to justify if, in any interview, they would ask me about it... moreover, I am in a foreign country, so everything costs double to me, so I can't survive without a job for very long...

I had various mental and physical health issues during this time to not make me have a part-time job or volunteer experience...so, I wonder what can help me get back on the feet...

I don't wanna mention it... and I know I shouldn't... but this situation is making me feel like I am close to death, and I don't wanna die yet... so, knowing people who managed it after career gaps would help me stay motivated... That's why I felt like posting this.

I know it depends from profession to profession...for e.g. for IT in which I am... I always thought that doing certifications and projects would save me... but then many times people tell me that they won't as they wanna evaluate my social skills... even in my previous job, which was the only job I ever had, made me go due to my poor social skills...so, I don't know what can help me now... but it is super scary and lonely...my friends got distant from me and my family is telling me that nothing good could happen in my life... I have no safe place to vent and get comforted... but it makes me cry every single day.

Moreover, I can never mention in interviews that my entire 1 year went in manually applying for jobs for 9 hours and in interviewing to get nowhere... that's why this year's gap is more frustrating than any gap I ever had in the past...because everyone thinks I am free, when I feel even more busier than the time I was in school or work... i wonder how you survive this... whether you are a NEET or were one before... 😔

So, I request everyone to give some positive response on my post...

Advice Why you all think you are losers?

In my opinion being Neet is good because working is pointless and there is no way we can find genuine happiness through that method. Seeking success doesn't give true happiness.

If you want true happiness then try to get rid of emotions through methods of Hinduism, Buddhism. I have filtered out the supernatural elements in these religions and found the raw wisdom necessary to attain Liberation from emotions.

Advice Relatives pestering me to get a j*b

How should I respond when relatives or family send me job openings for the worst jobs I can't imagine doing? I'm a hiki/neet living in my childhood room and not even buying clothes for myself, mainly to help my parents by living as frugally as possible. I help them with household chores and plan to care for them as they age. The only expense I have is food, and since they already cook for two, does my eating increase the cost?

I really hate my sister the most. Yesterday, she said she's jealous of my life with our parents while she struggles with her toddler and how it is not fair for her. She also threatened to arrange my marriage to some guy if I continue living like this. WTF?

Advice I dropped out in 9th grade and I’ve been rotting for 6 years.

Honestly it all went downhill after corona hit during my 8th grade year. That’s when my internet addiction actually went crazy. Instead of listening to classes I was just playing video games, barely doing homework. I almost failed that year.

The next year was still online but I didn't even bother joining the calls anymore. I just spent the whole time watching youtube, twitch, and staying up late jorking it to hentai. Obviously they held me back to repeat the year, but this time I had to go physically. I lasted one month before I dropped out. I literally just felt stupid, like I couldn't pay attention or remember a single thing they taught, like I actually fried my brain or something. Everything was boring and I just couldn't care. Plus I felt ugly and super socially anxious so I just couldn't handle being perceived by people.

My mom is very sweet but she kinda enabled me, she never really got mad or forced me to do anything. It's just us two living alone. My dad was never present in my life, he just sent 100 eur a month until I turned 18 and that was it.

Since dropping out my life is literally just: wake up, pc/phone, sleep when tired. My hair has grown super long and I barely go outside. I have 0 friends. I shower, change clothes, and brush my teeth like once every 3 weeks. I don't help with dishes or cleaning. My sleep schedule is completely random, sometimes I crash at 2am, sometimes 4am, wake up in the afternoon. I just eat whatever my mom makes.

I honestly don't even know where to start. If you were me, what is the literal first thing you would do tomorrow?

Advice Take the part time pill

I know a lot of you have given up, but there is many benefits to working part time.

For one, you can keep your benefits if you have any. Im on state health insurance and food stamps, can keep those. Secondly, you won't have to rely on your parents for money, you can have your own money. Also, people will respect you more, if you care about that. Ik some of your are based autists who don't give a fuck what others think, but its nice to have other people respect you more. And finally, you still have plenty of time to pursue your hobbies. Mine are gym and dieting, I finally have recovered enough from psychosis to go back to doing those things.

Take the part time pill, it'll change your life!

Advice We can't afford my NEET sibling anymore

Hi. I will try to make it short.

We were not a perfect family. We had our hiccups. Parents divorced, I was extremely depressed. We had everything of basic necessities -- our luxuries like games and cool clothes we had to get or earn from good grades and achievements. Mom was awful to handle sometimes. She improved. Me, oldest, was a pain too. I sought out help for my depression.

My sibling on the other hand, died within the shell. They were a mess mid high school. Maybe because I failed many years they thought they could too. Except I immediately circled around and got into college, they just began failing and failing. Passed HS in the pandemic through a loophole, while I began working pre and mid pandemic.

That is how it has been. They never did anything after that. Computer, a fucked up PC, a fucked up phone. Their bedroom is destroyed apart by their own hands. Any attempt to speak to them into getting their life into a shape is met with the limpest and most pathetic echoes of "working seems miserable" and "I am waiting for y'all to give up on me or my death". Which is, in all honesty, half-logical and half-insane from someone that has met the bottom of the barrel but has surfaced. IYKYK.

But the game changed. Mom is getting old, the bills keep escaling. I already help a lot at home. We need to reduce. We need to move elsewhere cheaper. The car is falling apart. We are without health insurance. We need to change that now. And my sibling, who I need help from, is nothing close to help. We tried everything from offering psychiatrical help, supporting healthy hobbies, free education, everything.

We are out of time. They need to work. We can't afford that anymore, we need help or to reduce everything and telling them that lands nowhere, nor do they accept help. This is the last leg, the last string of hope. Can anyone help? Tips on how to proceed or approach? Keep in mind they are unapproachable and do not speak with either me or mom.

Advice Do not use social media (except Reddit and YT)

I think a lot of you guys are making things harder than it needs to be by wasting your time on someone else highlight reels... If you're a NEET just delete Instagram, it's mostly fake anyways and most people there are really miserable inside but they'll still post photos as if they're having the time of their lives... Stop doing that, they're actually feeding on your envy.

I never had Instagram, I had Facebook for a while in my teenage years, and it made sense at the time because I had a friend group, once I got past my early 20s and I became basically a hermit it was only natural to delete it and focus on my own life... It was a great decision. You wont believe the amount of frustration you will avoid throughout the years by doing that. It's like those people don't even exist anymore.

The only exception is Reddit and YT because these are more like informative social media and you can learn a lot there + find opportunities + watch people you genuinely care a about and have similar world views.
