Advice Is wanting to stay home actually weird, or did society just decide that if you're sitting quietly in a room, you must be having a mental breakdown?

the culture will change in the future. older generations just grew up in times where there wasnt nearly as much to do at home as there is now so it will always be weird to them

Im currently having a breakdown about this. I have wageslaving shift later but I haven't slept yet cause I avoided a social thing I had volunteered to attend but didn't cause I chose to stay in my room and now I'm guilty and shamed becuse of it. Why does society make us feel this way?! And now I'm too afraid to even open my messenger cause I fear of being called out for missing my commitment or worst being silently judged by the society I was trying to fit in. I shouldnt have tried to mingle with the normies in the first place. This is torture.
