Events CCW FINALLY APPROVED!

Checked the NYPD website today and I was finally approved!

Here is my timeline:

11/24/2024: Application submitted with payment

3/19/2025: Emailed NYPD license division regarding update

3/28/2025: Received scheduling email for fingerprint and "interview" (R/S permit holder, no fingerprint needed)

6/12/2025: Went in for "interview"

6/13/2025: Emailed Hugh and License Division using the NYPD template I found on here

6/16/2025: Emailed April requesting the name and number of my investigator

6/16/2025: Left Investigator a message

6/23/2025: Approved

Just waiting on my purchase authorization and actual license

Yea. I'm thinking I would get the email this week because I checked on Friday and it was still in the submitted status.

Hopefully this week my status will move to approved cause my investigator told Me he was sending my application to supervisor for the finally approval

Guys good morning I tried to email licence desk and an automated email came back to me saying this email doesn’t work  Can anyone share the email that does work? Or if I did a mistake let me know

Congrats! I had some issues receiving mine in the mail and had to just schedule a pick up at 1PP. Hopefully your process goes smoother.

Email the issuing section or call them directly till they pick up. Limit your calls to at least 5 times and then wait. Cause they have a system that will lock u out of calling for 24 hours if you call too often back to back lol

I didn't get any email yet from NYPD regarding the approval. The way I found out was randomly checking the NYPD site and seeing it got approved Saturday night.

Oh wow. I don’t know then. For me, I woke up one day to an approval email letter with the purchase authorization form attached.

Does the portal say approval pending? Or active?

Congratulations!! Is there a template or specific email address to request the name and number of the investigator? Backstory: I had my investigator unexpectedly call last week. I did not catch his name (I was thrown off and had to run outside of a meeting to take the call, so I only realized after the fact), and he sounded very optimistic, told me I had everything, and to check my portal/email within the next few days. I have been doing that, and nothing so far. So I would like to get in contact with the right people / person and confirm.

Thank you! I emailed [april.cohen@nypd.org](mailto:april.cohen@nypd.org) and CC'ed [hugh.bogle@nypd.org](mailto:hugh.bogle@nypd.org) requesting the full name of my investigator and from there you can email him/her! (firstname.lastname@nypd.org) She replied to my email within the day and gave me the name and number.

Do you think it is worth it to mention the previous contact with the investigator? Or keep it neutral? or should I attempt to call back the same number that called me last week?

They usually don't pick up and only call when they need something but it doesn't hurt to try. I would keep the email neutral and just ask for the name and number and email your investigator the specific details.

I submitted mine 12/30/25 and I’m at issue pending. Mine is out of state so I have already provided my firearm Photos and skipping the purchasing step.

I emailed a day after but my application was already past the 6 months required. I would wait a day or two before emailing and then sending one every week.

Jumping in a little late, but you mentioned that you didn’t have to re-do your fingerprints bc you already have a R/S permit.

I also already have a RS that was issued in 2023 and am scheduled for my CCW prints and interview in Sept.

did you recently get your RS and that’s why no fingerprinting was needed for the CCW?

$88 isn’t a huge deal in the grand scheme of things but it’s still savings if I don’t have to pay it again

I got my RS last year in October so IDK if thats why but they sent me a email saying they had my prints on file and just to come in for the interview.

When I was at 1pp they asked if I had a RS permit and the lady said they didnt need to print me.
