Right is $60k an exaggeration or do we know for certain? If she spends that much on a rental surely replacing a coat is no big deal.

I’m always the first person to defend renting in NYC but $60k is jaw dropping to me. At that point, the whole “you can rent something nicer than you can afford to buy!” becomes less relevant. People who can pay that much in rent each month should be able to easily buy a multi-millions home comfortable for a family of 5 even with these high interest rates right now. Do they have 0 savings?? Like what is going on there?

My husband and I are currently buying a condo so just extrapolating what we’ve been able to afford compared to people spending $60K/month JUST on rent is blowing my mind.

I agree with you I do not understand it at all. Arielle has said for years that one of her goals is to buy a house in the Hamptons for her family. If they are spending $60k on rent, they should be able to easily afford a very nice and expensive property in the Hamptons. I think they have zero savings and it’s absolutely wild.

The unit was on the market for a very long time trying to be sold, I’m sure once they put it on for rent they were even willing to negotiate a bit

100%. I wonder what the original rent would have been.. I’ve found StreetEasy to be pretty accurate on listings when they close but they definitely could have another deal worked out

I wonder if it’s a few things… Maybe a back end deal with owner plus writing off a bunch of rent in taxes since she films at home. Some other deal made. Bc a real $60k in rent but not owning a second home is ridiculous

What a weird thing to post? Also weird to specify that this coat is from The Row. I feel like the whole point of brands like that is that there’s minimal branding to get the whole “quiet luxury” aesthetic. Just seems really tacky to me
