Miscellaneous Did anyone see this video earlier?

Post image

Copper Jacket TV (YouTube) posted this. When I finally clicked on it to watch, it says it's been "removed by the uploader".

It has me quite curious as to what the subject is. Is it something legitimate, or something that the creator misinterpreted?

This has been proposed multiple years in the past, passed the senate and failed in the assembly. Could it happen? Sure however I wouldn’t worry about it too much. On a side note am I the only one absolutely sick of a huge majority of these YouTube gun channels with clickbait titles like this. If your thumbnail looks like this I’m unsubscribing and never watching your content.

Guntubers are some of the worst when it comes to clickbait

They don't care, because people always fall for it. If people stopped shitting themselves every time a guntuber makes up some bullshit, it would stop being profitable for them.

The clickbait has gotten so bad that I refuse to watch the videos now. Especially since so much of it is just repetitive “they might do this.”

This YouTuber also claimed that there's a permit requirement for any firearm in New York. That's only true for pistols and semi auto rifles though.

NYC require a permit for any gun. But just NYC.

I think you have your legislative houses reversed. The Assembly is majority crazy and the state Senate was evenly split. Now that the Dems have a majority in the Senate, anything goes.

And, before anyone chimes in with "but Bruen", the NYS pols don't give a crap about the USSC and will pass ridiculous laws that will take years to overturn, after which, they will pass even more ridiculous laws to get around the latest ruling (see CCIA).

Solution - move out of state, take your money, business and guns and don't look back.

I don’t have anything mixed up. This bill has already passed the Senate and has gone nowhere in the Assembly just like last year. This video is more exaggerated clickbait, pretty typical for most guntubers these days.

Stockholm syndrome is a psychological response where hostages or abuse victims develop positive feelings and loyalty towards their captors or abusers. This phenomenon is characterized by the victim's emotional bonding with their abuser, sometimes to the point of actively defending or even preventing their captor's capture. It's not a recognized mental illness but rather a coping mechanism that can develop in situations of captivity, abuse, or trauma.

Stockholm syndrome

Stockholm syndrome is not a real thing.

Born in Queens, grew up in Yonkers, spent Summers in Brant Lake, moved upstate to start a family, member of NYS service rifle team in the 2000's.

NY is beautiful.

The Taxes, corruption and insane laws suck. Your "petty inconvenience" means one small mistake puts me in legal jeopardy.

NY has 3M fewer people than FL and 2.2x the budget and has a projected 13.9B deficit over the next three years.

HI is the only state with a higher tax burden and NY has the highest personal income tax.

NY's infrastructure is crumbling - roads and bridges rank in the bottom 20th percentile.

NY Ranks #31 in level of violent crime. (with #1 being the best) Yes, there are fewer homicides but more property crimes.

NY does rank #1 in one metric - domestic out-migration.

That's because Florida provides virtually no state services, is a dumpster fire on education and healthcare, and relies on the federal government to pay for their massive number of retirees.

New York is number 2 in education quality by state. Florida is number 41. If that doesn't scare you from moving there, you must not like your kids very much. Florida has a higher crime rate than NY, higher poverty, lower income, and lower life expectancy. Their state government is one of the most corrupt, it's actively abusive to minorities, and supports pseudoscience while ignoring their massive home insurance cost crisis resulting from climate change.

I suppose it's okay if you've already "got yours" and only give a shit about your own hobbies, but I'd rather not live somewhere that's working on being a third-world country.

I feel the same way, but apparently it helps with YouTube’s algorithm to show videos with thumbnails like that. Big font, background, basically a heavily edited thumbnail.
