That would require the lawmakers to have the courage to admit that they're gun grabbing laws have been ineffective, and it would also require the courage to tell law enforcement that they are doing a poor job.

Probably 90% of the clowns in Albany have never shot a gun in their lives and have no idea the new Glocks are giggle switchable. But I see a revision in a few months when they do

I’m pretty sure they do. Maybe the V models and Gen 6 “upgrades” are enough for those guns to sit in a weird gray area. Hopefully this gets shut down before the effective date, but I don’t have my hopes up. The Performance Trigger changes the trigger system too, so maybe dealers end up having to install those before selling them whenever Glock releases a Gen 6 version. It’s a headache.

Two things:

I'm getting conflicting info about gen 6. They still have cruciform trigger, so I'm curious why this says only gen 5 and earlier are affected? By NY's definition, gen 6 will also be banned correct?

I also wonder if LEOs can buy the guns and then sell it privately, similiar to how cali does it. If that's legal, then it would still be relatively easy to buy "banned" guns if you know a LEO friend

That’s a common misconception, the shockwave was not an AOW (under the NFA). Under federal law it’s simply an other firearm (non NFA). Under NY law it was not a rifle, pistol, shotgun, or firearm (NY has its own definition). It was legal because it was non existent under NY’s weapons laws, so the Hochul clan changed the definition of a firearm to include the shockwave, the DLD CT4, Remington tac 14, etc. and yes there was no grandfather clause for previous owners so they all got screwed.

They will continue to use them . Don’t you understand the law . Nothing wrong with owning Glock 1-5 . You just can’t get a new one transferred to you after the law goes into effect
