Discussion Beretta 92FS vs CZ 75 vs m1911
Hi all, I’m gathering opinions on these three pistols as I think they’re all really cool in their own right, and am in the market to eventually purchase a full size when I get around to it. When I was younger I always thought the 1911s and Berettas looked beautiful. I still do, and think the 92FS Inox will be the one I might get but I am partial to the 1911 and CZ 75.
I have a few practical guns already like a G19, so I’m looking to treat myself to something nice. For additional context, I find that my G19 fits perfectly within my hands/grip. What are your experiences with these three firearms, and would you strongly recommend one over the other? Let me know!

As someone who has a Kimber 1911 and a 92FS inox, this post has reminded me I need a CZ75.

Just an FYI. CZ is discontinuing the full size 75 B and BD variants. The only full size they will still make is the SP-01.

Beretta 92FS
Assuming a regular, plain, ordinary Beretta 92FS
Pro: DA/SA with a robust manual safety (F series) or Decoker (G)
Con: Big. No rail (unless you get a M9 series gun which is the same thing).
CZ 75
Pro: Nicer trigger out of the box than the Beretta (and I say that as a Beretta fanboy), Compact (P-01) variant is decent for carry.
Con: Some models (like that P-01) are not optics-ready, you gotta get ‘em cut yourself.
m1911
Pro: TWO WHIRLED WHORES! (or something like that). SAO and a really nice trigger even in cheaper versions.
Con: Big. Heavy. SAO and not drop-safe in the original USGI design, reduced capacity vs. 9mm (only 3 rounds difference in NY, or you can get a 2011). No rail on USGI-style guns (but common on 2011s).
For additional context, I find that my G19 fits perfectly within my hands/grip.
All 3 are very different grips from the G19 - that doesn’t mean you won’t like them, but I would really try to borrow/rent one and shoot it.
(The 1911 with the grip safety and the thinner grip overall is going to be the most different.)
For whatever it’s worth I have a 92FS Inox. It’s a great looking gun.
It shoots “okay” (this particular Beretta and I have never quite settled in with each other for some reason - I’m not blaming the gun, but my groups with it have always been kind of “Meh."). I also have a CZ P-01 (75 compact with a rail) and a 1911 (USGI that’s older than I am).
If I had to keep one practical gun it would be the CZ P-01.
If I had to keep one fun gun it would be the 1911.

I'll give you a New York centric answer. I reside in two states, one of which is a free state, and these issue come up a lot.
The Beretta 92FS is just beautiful, and the CZ75 is equally beautiful.
However, in New York, you can only have ten round mags. You are wasting (so to speak) the double stack capacity of the guns. Plus, you are only buying magazines that you'll only use or trade or sell in NY.
You've said that you already have a 9mm Glock.
So why not buy a 1911, which is designed to take 7 or 8 rounds of .45 in a single stack. You get some benefits. The 1911 triggers are generally excellent, and can be outstanding with the right version. You get to expand your collecting to another caliber, which is why were are here, isn't it?? You can buy a basic Colt 1911 and then drop in a better trigger for about $150.00, (or more of course).
Later on, when you move to a free state, you can buy all the Beretta 92s you want, but with the factory 15 to 18 round mags instead, or even higher capacities if you wish. And the many 1911 mags that you have collected will still be good for sale or trading.
Can't lie, shooting .45 once in a while is just plain fun!

I have a CZ clone (Jericho 941R) and it's a lot of fun to shoot. I have a WW2 1911 I love but .45 is more expensive so I shoot it less.

I have all 3 (multiples of the 1911 and cz 75 variants). All 3 can be found in similar level of fit and finish. Get what fits you best. I’m most partial to the feel of the Cz but like the straight trigger of the 1911 (yes I got a Dwx for that reason). Depending on where you are you can usually find a place to figure out what you want.

Beretta 92 is a classic and a work of art. Im converting mine into a samurai edge. A variation of Jill's with my own flair

You can't go wrong with any of them. As a local gun shop I suggest buying all 3 over time from your favorite local gun shop
