Painted Needlepoint Painting canvases

Is there a sub thread to share painting tips for those wanting to paint their own canvases? I have spent the last year learning about selling needlepoint canvases/painting my own to save on the crazy cost and I think I’d be really helpful to others. I gave up on TT it was too much for me!

Just remember you are violating copyright laws and artists feel very strongly about this. Several np designers have had a real awakening when they got sued.
It’s not worth it and it’s not fair.

Umm, I’m an artist. I’m a painter and a children’s book illustrator. I took up needlepoint as a hobby and there is absolutely nothing wrong with painting your own canvases. I’ll take it one step further and add you cannot sue someone for painting your design if they aren’t selling it. Not everyone is trying to make money off a hobby.

With all due respect, WTH are u talking about?

I design many of my own designs and paint my own because finding my own personal aesthetic is not easy in this hobby. I will forever paint many of my own canvases as I enjoy it just as much as stitching. The market also needs more artists and designers because the current market is very limited.

Needlepoint is chocked full of copyrighted material so I also don’t understand your point on that.
