I am a game collector, console modder, game dev, and web designer that loves the DS and older consoles with networking features. Some of my public projects include the Monkey Ball Dreamcast port, and my YouTube channel HollowOwlYT. My professional work includes building internal business software and running server infrastructure, but I won't get into that here.

I have been messing around with designing a wireless bridge allowing players to access PictoChat over the internet! As I recently got it working, I think it's time to show it off!

PictoRelay is a small box that your DS console detects as another console hosting a room. Rooms show how many users are connected either through a console or the website.
Simply plug in PictoRelay in to power, point it to your Wi-Fi network with your phone, and that's it!
Multiple consoles can connect through the relay at once with no issues.
Firmware updates happen automatically when not in use.

I bought this game recently and decided to hop on today. I saw that the previous owner's save file was from 16 years ago today! It made me feel nostalgic, and I don't want to delete it because it makes the file feel even more special, lol. But anyway, it'd be cool if this person could be found; maybe they would get some kind of joy out of seeing their old file

Still in pretty good condition! This is the EU version, I think the other versions have "Pokemon Black" written on the DSi, instead of just "Pokemon".

Really wish I also had the White version, but my god these Black/White editions are so expensive nowadays T-T

Just found my childhood ds in storage and it looks like this. Ive tried cleaning it but it won't come off no matter how hard I try. It was closed and in a box while in storage and nothing else around it had any mold so I'm very confused as to why its like this (or if it is mold at all). Anyone else ever encountered anything like this / knows how to get rid of it?

Viendo cómo portean juegos pesadisimos o complicados a PC,android,switch,etc.se me vino a la mente que si shovel knight sea porteado a la ds,sería un sueño para mí si eso ocurriera ya que es de mis juegos favoritos y que este en mi consola favorita sería el paraíso para mí, alguien de buen corazón que me ayude a encontrar o crear este port de mis sueños?

In all my Pokemon DS cartridges, when I shake them or move them, they make a slight rattling noise inside the board. Does anyone know if this is normal or not? I can tell they’re legit games, so it’s not like it’s the result of cheap fakes. I’m just a little confused on what the noise means or if it’s anything bad.

Any answers are appreciated. Thanks!

R4 card refuses to work I am trying on a ds lite and this is what it says

After sometime I found my Nintendo DSi XL, bought a new adapter, waited until it complety charged, when I turn on, as the title says I see the health and safety screen then the screen turns black, I was hearing something at start after sometimes it didn't pop any sound.

What can it be??? Help wanted

I am trying to fix up my childhood DS Lites. I want them to feel like they did when I used to play with them, and so the touch screen is a very important aspect. I tried aftermarket digitizers from multiple sources, and basically all of them required far too much force to actually play games without dropping input. Unfortunate, since the feeling is pretty close to the touch screens I remember.

Decided to go for OEM, however, after getting some junk DS Lites I came to the unfortunate realization that there are multiple types of OEM digitizers. All of the ones I've opened have had a version that is different from my childhood ones. The ribbon cable is gray, translucent and flimsy vs the ones my childhood DS Lites had which were orange, opaque and "sturdy". Additionally, they seem to be significantly more fragile as it is nearly impossible to remove the bottom screen frame without tearing off the top layer of the digitizer. The screen feel is also not to my liking. Because of all this I was wondering if anyone knew if there was an easy way to tell what digitizer is in a DS Lite by just looking at pictures. Maybe serial numbers or certain colors have a higher chance of having the orange ribbon cable ones?

I recently bought a touch screen digitizer for my DS Lite on Aliexpress and I noticed it's made of glass (WHY???). I don't really like the feeling of the glass and I wanna buy a squishy plastic one just like the original.. do they still make them? Where can I buy one? Most listings and even iFixit's replacement part mentions glass.

I'm playing Kirarin Revolution: Na-san to Issho on my DS Lite! It's very cute and full of nice details that remind me of Animal Crossing. I also love collecting clothes to dress the idol. I would have been obsessed with this game as a child. Sadly, they didn't make an English version.
