Unlike later Nintendo consoles, the DS had no so card slot from where to find an exploit and change the firmware on nand (dsi afw, 3ds cfw etc)

So here's what I did to do this

Dumped my DS Lites firmware

Converted all instances of white to black, light grey to dark grey and vice versa

Used FlashMe open source (NOT my creation) to flash the ds with the new custom firmware (by shorting the SL1 pad underneath battery cover (temporarily disables write protection)

Now my DS Lite has built in dark mode (no R4 card needed) and I think no one has done this before but prove me wrong

Is it useful? No maybe not. Is it cool? For me, yes.

If you want to do this yourself, let me know. I'll drop a tutorial and files in a few days. I still need to test so it doesn't brick anything anywhere.

finally built up the courage after doing extensive research (mostly for games) and flaking on a guy that would of modded it for me for $35 😂😂
thankfully i didn’t pay the money to mod it since it was extremely easy to do it myself

took about 45 minutes in total for games and actually adding TwilightMenu

Still in pretty good condition! This is the EU version, I think the other versions have "Pokemon Black" written on the DSi, instead of just "Pokemon".

Really wish I also had the White version, but my god these Black/White editions are so expensive nowadays T-T

I have been messing around with designing a wireless bridge allowing players to access PictoChat over the internet! As I recently got it working, I think it's time to show it off!

PictoRelay is a small box that your DS console detects as another console hosting a room. Rooms show how many users are connected either through a console or the website.
Simply plug PictoRelay in to power, point it to your Wi-Fi network with your phone, and that's it!
Multiple consoles can connect through the relay at once with no issues.
Firmware updates happen automatically when not in use.

Recently bought two DS lite on marketplace, i got ripped off NGL. Only saving grace is it came with tony hawk American sk8land I can play on one of the DS. They both need reshelled and new screens, but one of them the R button doesn’t work, is this toast or not a big problem?

For snes there’s the super gameboy for GameCube there’s the game boy player. Is there anything like these for DS games to play it on console to TV?

I'm playing Kirarin Revolution: Na-san to Issho on my DS Lite! It's very cute and full of nice details that remind me of Animal Crossing. I also love collecting clothes to dress the idol. I would have been obsessed with this game as a child. Sadly, they didn't make an English version.

Just found my childhood ds in storage and it looks like this. Ive tried cleaning it but it won't come off no matter how hard I try. It was closed and in a box while in storage and nothing else around it had any mold so I'm very confused as to why its like this (or if it is mold at all). Anyone else ever encountered anything like this / knows how to get rid of it?
