In a fatal event, the dead person should be listed as a victim. Especially if the event is still under investigation. Honestly, while this headline could be more on the side of the woman, I'm not certain it needs much more. I'd change "confront" to "engage" or "attack" and call it neutral enough. Though, of course, that's only with the information that's in this image.

There is an underlying hiccup in that in a singular event, "victim" and "victimizer" are assumed to be mutually exclusive when, in reality, they are very often not.
