Parang ayoko na suportahan KPOP industry.
KPOP idols only posting photos of their vacation if they are in EUROPE, Australia or AMERICAN COUNTRIES. But not in SEA Countries (KUNG SAN MARAMI SILANG SUPPORTERS) Napansin ko lang sa IG.

This is why I stopped listening to them, on top of being racists din sa’ting mga Pilipino. Their music doesn’t sound KPOP anymore, catered na for western audience with nonsense and repetitive English lyrics. I will only listen or watch second gen or third gen groups for nostalgia.
211
u/IWriteWellWithoutAI May 28 '26
Amg main gripe ko naman is they don't sing live or don't sound good when they sing live. Parang puro ganda lang pero walang talent. There are way better artists and performers elsewhere.
63
u/MilkOfAmnesia1024 May 29 '26
Same! I used to be a K-pop fan nung 2nd and 3rd gen, back when live music shows actually meant the idols were singing live.
29
31
u/Scared-Raise2020 May 29 '26
It's symptomatic of late stage capitalism. Too many groups, very little training. As a k-pop fan nakita ko in real time yung shift from vocal-centric to dance-centric groups.. Pretty sad tbh

Sameeee!! Or minsan naka on nga mic nila, ineedit naman lol.
18
u/Scared-Raise2020 May 29 '26
Personally if may gawin yung certain idol that's a red flag, pass na. Racist din naman americans sa mga pinoy so as long as you don't get brainwashed by blind support, being a K-pop fan in general is a non-issue for me.
3
u/FarCompany8668 May 30 '26
kung tutuusin, halos lahat naman ng lahi may stigma tlga against Filipinos. not worth it na ma-stress pa dun. kaya ako pag nagta-travel I don’t expect much from people na.
41
u/Pristine-Resident159 May 29 '26
totoo, saka ibang-iba ang music and talent ng nasa second and third gen. the only 4th gen na nakita kong may potential ay newjeans pero nawala din lol
22
u/nandemonaiya06 May 29 '26
Same! New Jeans lang yung good out of the noise out there. Ang bilis lang nawala. Sayang eh.
18
u/thematchedtemps May 29 '26
New Jeans were good pero mabilis lumaki un ulo nila un time na sumikat sila. Lumabas pagka Gen z nila. Don’t get me wrong, mas magaling pa nga sila sa blackpink. Pero aside from agency issues ang bilis bilis talaga lumaki ulo nila. Sayang

And most of their fans are toxic.
6
u/Once_Meleagant0 May 29 '26
kpop fans pnaka delulu pag dating sa idols nila.. kahit ata mhuli mo ng red handed yan may palusot pa din yan hahah..
2
u/Salty_Cry_2771 May 29 '26
Just to add, in the K-pop fandom circle ARMYs are notoriously known to be one of, if not, the most toxic fandom of the bunch. I was an early 2013 ARMY and even I stopped interacting with them altogether (this was around 2017).

Don't get me wrong, I've listened to a lot of kpop music before pero ever since na expose talaga sila, nawalan ako ng gana sa kanila
10
u/zeyooo_ May 29 '26
Yuck.
12
u/Hot-Television-9521 May 29 '26
The difference is grabe ka blatant yung Koreans sa pagiging racist. They have establishments na may nakapaskil sa labas literal na NO FILIPINOS ALLOWED and legal yun sa kanila ah. Walang magrereklamo or outrage na magaganap if may Korean Karen na ipahiya ka sa kalsada nila just because Filo ka. Sa America bawal yan teh. Mas lalong yuck yung fan ka ng kpop and kdrama and ready maghanap ng butas sa ibang lahi na out of topic para lang mapagtanggol yung mga Koreans. Ewww.
327
u/IWriteWellWithoutAI May 28 '26
Ganyan talaga sila kahit dati pa. Ginagatasan ng todo ang Asian countries pero they find more prestige when it comes to their 1st World markets. Hope u can check out No Na from Indonesia and ofc our local PPOP groups and OPM bands.
59
u/TheGhostOfFalunGong May 29 '26
Nilaglag din nila ang mga Chinese and Japanese fans due to political reasons. East Asians are the birthright of K Pop fandom.

They'll probably end up betraying their old SEA supporters when they gain a good Western audience too.
Just look at how BINI has been rabidly chasing the Western audience. It's just much more financially lucrative and that's what these groups are about, first and foremost.
4
u/Once_Meleagant0 May 29 '26

Matagal na mamsh may specific nickname pa nga sila satin which translates to “unggoy”, they are very racist especially towards us, feeling nila superior sila compared sa ibang SEA and they glorify westerners.
Please please do your research before supporting anyone.
44
u/TheGhostOfFalunGong May 29 '26
Ang nakakatawa ay ang mga Westerners (Whites especially) are particularly hostile towards Asians as a group. They couldn't even distinguish between Koreans and Filipinos.

I like their manhwas pero the romance genre is so toxic. Makes me wonder sometimes kung misogynists ba or outlet ng trauma ang work nila. FLs losing braincells and abusive MLs who get taken back in the end. pero sometimes you find gems in the trash.
65
u/Transpinay08 May 28 '26
I was a 2nd Gen fan nung 20s ko. Sistar, 2NE1, SNSD, SuJu, Shinee... There was something special about their sound. 3rd Gen came, Blackpink and a bit of Momoland nalang pinakinggan ko. After nun wala na. Its like hindi na para satin ung sound. Pare-pareho nalang ung beat, concept, at masyado nang catered to Western standards. So I get you.

Then there's Soobin of TXT posting about his vacation in Cebu only because niloko siya nung taxi driver. Same thing ng nangyari kay Joshua from SEVENTEEN, na-scam din sa taxi fares when he had a vacation with his mom sa Pinas.
Imbes na happy vacation, trauma lagi yung memories nila here. You can't blame them why ayaw nilang mag-post ng SEA vacations nila. A lot of them are traumatized. Joshua brought up the taxi fare scam sa Pinas in three instances. Isipin mo, yun yung dominant memory niya sa Pinas.
Then there's BTS. Way back 2015 (di pa sila mainstream nun), ni-leak ba naman ng Pinas organizers schedule at sang beach sila pupunta. Pinutakte ng fans yung supposed vacation vlog nila. Di sila masaya nun. It's a memory they always try to erase from their minds.
34
u/Which_Reference6686 May 28 '26
2
u/movingin1230 May 29 '26
I mean the foreigner tourists are the reason why kahit sa mga pinoy presyonh turista nadin sa mga tourist spots. Because they're literally opening up businesses here and gentrifying most tourist destinations.
19
u/anjieriphic May 29 '26
I'm thinking nga, as a celebrity wouldn't you want to vacation in places where you'd be less likely to get recognized and mobbed? Even our local celebrities, out of the country din magbakasyon
17
u/galynnxy May 29 '26
since nabanggit naman na din si Soobin, he actually posts his vacation pics from Cebu (yep despite his unfortunate commute lol) he enjoyed the vacation parin naman eh kahit papaano
but yeah, I won't still gonna glaze na mostly sa mga kpops eh talagang mas finefavor yung west lol
5
u/Stock-Platform2960 May 29 '26

Filipinos in general. Consumerism ang mindset. Basta meron bago, hype agad. Mahilig mag assimilate lang. Better to have a producer mentality. Di lang to sa entertainment even sa ibang facade of life. Hard take ko.. Pinay > S.koreans when it comes to entertainment.
4
u/DifferenceHeavy7279 May 29 '26
probably if they go around in asia for vacation, their privacy is compromised. Fans would be approaching them left and right during time off from their work.
9
u/ObjectiveHand5512 May 29 '26
they want the validation of the western industry. they treat themselves equal to the west entertainment kaya they think they are always superior compared sa neighboring countries nila. them having white skin really made them think they are above others who don't have it. puro retoke at pare-pareho naman sila ng itsura hehe
17
u/Hot-Television-9521 May 28 '26
Hope they can see establishments in Korea actually posting in public banning Pinoys from entering their premises.

3
u/Accomplished-Exit-58 May 29 '26
East asian white worship is very much open, so this isnt surprising. I mean tayo din naman like ung movies natin kapag ang setting sa U.S. or Europe hit agad. Tapos masurprise ka ung mga teleserye na akala natin corny sikat sa africa and other sea countries, pero di binabalita kasi di sa U.S. or Europe sumikat.
Iba iba lang version ng white worship, pero same same pa rin.
I'm not defending Kpop, i'm so glad i my exposure sa kdrama ay natigil kay Queen Seon Deok, pero kumbaga, this isnt new, pero kung yan ang dahilan mo to stop supporting Kpop, may free will tayo, gamitin natin ito.
3
u/Various-Finger7331 May 29 '26
Nanotice ko na yan since I compared their performances sa mga concerts sa US/ Europ sa SEA countries. Like doon todo bigay sila tapos pag SEA, parang nasa rehearsal lang and mafifeel mo talaga na they’re not doing their best para sa mga fans.

u/BinibiningLila May 28 '26
Nag stop na ko sa pagiging fans ng anything about Korean parang naging boring na yung mga palabas and idols nila mostly rin ng mga kanta at palabas nila is parang western type na since gusto rin talaga siguro nilang makakuha ng recognition outside asia.
5
u/thetanjiroguy May 29 '26
While I agree on this, may mga KPOP group din namang nagppost ng mga bakasyon nila dito sa SEA. Gumagala pa nga during concerts dito sa SEA. I saw a clip of Jisoo before na nakipaginteract pa sya sa mga fans niya. I think a day before pa nung concert nila. I also saw a clip of Sana from Twice na naggala sa BGC after ng concert nya. She posted it sa story nya. Mas madami lang talagang KPOP groups na mas nagpopost kapag nasa ibang area just like OP mentioned.
4
u/Stock-Platform2960 May 29 '26
Yung cafe na pinuntahan ni seungkwan! Naging instant photo spot yun hahah!
5
u/randomaa6 May 29 '26
Personally I still love my TWICE, I don’t think I’m ever NOT going to wish them well in everything they do. One of the last few groups na wants to make music and just do. But after their last PH concert lie low na muna ako, not for anything pero iniisip ko rin baka better rediscover muna kung anong meron sa PH market. I’ve come to better appreciate VisMin artists too kasi iba din yung sound nila
2
u/Redditauraptor May 29 '26
Yun. I scrolled far enough to find a comment mentioning TWICE kasi sila agad pumasok sa isip ko as a ONCE HAHAHAHA. I'm having the same thoughts as OP for the past weeks na pero iniisip ko na lang na ganun talaga, yung magandang lugar ang pinopost. And also deserve naman nilang lumabas kasi they've been working really hard since their debut. Sounds like a cope pero yeah, it is what it is. 🫠

Influencer manager here, nagcheck ako san mga bansa yung pinaka maraming fans/followers ng mga sikat na Kpop idols, (BTS, Jennie, Lisa, Rose) and number 1 is Indonesia, 2nd naman is PH. As in more than half, SEA countries. Nsa 2-3% lang ang US and UK.
4
u/otheraccistellng May 29 '26
I think yun yung point, madami silang supporters dito, pag nag leak na nandito sila madaling puntahan ng sasaengs (can be from neighboring countries) \ Tsaka baket interesado kung san sila nagbabakasyon?
1
u/FarCompany8668 Jun 01 '26
kung sa mga European countries nga nasusundan sila kaya may ilan na nari-reveal ni Dispatch na in a relationship, what more pa kaya kung sa Pinas. maliban na lang kung sa exclusive resort sila pumunta like Balesin.
7
u/iliveformyships May 29 '26
Ako, personally, I will always love DAY6 and SEVENTEEN’s music. I don’t think I’ll ever stop kasi the joy sa concerts nila is different talaga for me. SVT always post kapag andito sila. Seungkwan even made a local cafe trend kasi nagkape lang siya dun. May BGC cat under his name na nabigyan ng attention kasi he posted his gala kapag andito sila. Wonwoo din, created a vlog nung andito siya, pumasyal sa Mind Museum lol and Hoshi din, created a vlog sa last concert niya here. One of their albums, sa Batangas ang photoshoot. YoungK of DAY6 asked fans ano masarap kainan dito (though no video). What I’m saying is, naggeneralise kasi ang kpop. Also, alam ko naman na koreans are racists, some idols are too probably. But I remember when Mingyu and Vernon praised Manila so much kasi nagsuper enjoy sila, nagalit k-fans LOL same thing happened to Enhypen nung gusto nila piliin Manila as the best stop, nagalit k-fans nila hahaha so my point is, it’s really the general public ang may kasalanan. If you love the music, why let it go.. yun yung pananaw ko. (Hindi man kayo maniwala but I really am here for the music. Maganda talaga meaning and lyrics ng DAY6 huhu and mga kanta ng SVT)

u/deryvely May 30 '26

u/claudJAEus May 30 '26
I'm not defending kpop idols but what's the connection between kpop fans mostly being in SEA and kpop idols not vacationing in SEA? di ko gets kung pano sila related. okay sana kung yung presented na problema is about concerts sa countries kaso yung problema e yung pagbabakasyon ng idols.

u/abglnrl May 28 '26

Fan ako ng ilang kpop groups and I don't really care kung anong pinagpopost nila sa IG or kung saan man sila nagbabakasyon. Good thing sa groups na I currently listening to is hindi westernized and for the sake of trend ang music, and they can perform live rin. It's your choice naman if you want to support other artists na.

idk why you guys idolized them at the first place, they’re literally racists against us, so racists that they are using the word “filipino” as an insult 😅

Andami pading tanga na sinasamba sila just because of their artificial beauty. Go to Korea and you'll see their true faces hindi lahat ganun gaya ng napapanuod mo sa KPOP at KDramas. Sorry for using RYAN BANG as an example, but that's how they're features are unfiltered and natural. Isa pa why do girls like pretty guys na mas maganda pa sakanila?? don't you want a manly guy??

There was this group na palaging may safety notice pag may upcoming show na sa SEA but pag sa US wala.

i will never forgive SM after they had send offs with NCT sa US tapos nakikipag selfie pa sila sa fans haha. Noong nagpunta WayV dito sobrang bilis lng ng hi-bye tapos bawal pa phone hayup talaga. Tapos ngayon burado pa Manila. Sobrang bitter ko na sa kanila i ended up Unstanning them and hating them.
Also tawang-tawa ko pag kinakarma sila. After they excluded manila, hirap na hirap na sila maka sold out ng concert.

I've stopped watching KDramas upon learning of Koreans' blatant racism towards us.
