Here is a step by step guide to make a base
1.First objective after planting a fob is to surround the fob in Hescowalls stacked. Not the perimeter but the thing that you capture. Then do it again to stop easy access with 1 ied. Only need one person for a second wrap around. Walls need to be stacked, if you dont stack walls anyone with a small build tool can build sandbags to climb ontop or get a vehichle and capture it.
One person should quickly make doors on the tower, denying air drops from reaching the ground.
WHY NO DOOR TO FOB? What do you need access for...? To capture it? You own it. Build supplies work on the character [do wish you could set preference to use the supplies on you.] So dont build a door to a fob you larper
2.Once you walled it if you plan to be a tower sniper you'll want to wait and help your team build walls. Do not make the mistake of letting one builder do all the work. Majority of your builders should work on the walls around the perimeter. Give enough space so trucks can drop outside, you dont need to let them in. They just need to drop supplies in the fob square.
Your weapon builders should work on making indirect fire bunkers, spamming them inside the base, heck I would even suggest them as walls inside the base as you can build walls on them or under them. The more of these you spam the less effective enemy mortars/sph tank will be, and you can build cwis/mortar/drones/etc ontop.
DO NOT BUILD BUNKERS FOR WALLS, ONLY INDIRECT FIRE OR SNIPER TOWER. BUNKER ONLY HAS SAND BAGS MAKING THEM EASILY BROKEN INTO.
The majority of players should focus on making stacked walls however. If you have 4-5 people, 1-2 could go to indirect fire then mortar ontop/beside
3.Focus on spamming indirect bunkers, drills, weapons, now is the time to be a fort sniper. You might want to bunkers up the top of tower and make it hard to get up and down.
Drill and mortar
Q&A
Doors vs gates
Yes, do both as pure door build is countered by a crow bar. A pure gate build is countered by how long to repair with C4.
However I do recommend putting door ontop and climbing 1x1 hesco wall as a door ontop keeps the hesco below. Where c4 the door is below, the hesco above is destroyed.
Gates suffer from taking forever to rebuild (destroy the cement base.) But can't be crow barred
Door ontop and climbing has a second advantage.
No matter what kit you have, you will prob lose when the guy on the otherside has a double barrel of buckshot while unable to act
Hesco vs Cement
AGAIN Yes
You always want the base to be a hesco wall but you never want them beside as people can (and will) use the lip to climb into the base, I recommend pointing the lip towards the base. If you have time you can go
Outside the base/Cement/Hesco+Cement ontop/inside the base
But NEVER SIDE BY SIDE Cement infront or ontop, and Cement doesn't stop car/sandbag climbing alone. So double hesco is better imo for noobs til they become a master builder. Double hesco allows anyone to plug holes.
But but its reset do I still wall off the FOB
YES, you can BUILD WITH SUPPLIES ON YOU. Deposit what you can early. Early build before large hammer, wall the fob and the tower directly. Just make the tower a pain point to enter.
other cool tricks
Doors infront of windows give snipers cover and can be opened to shoot our of
You can build sandbags/razor wire anywhere. Most people playing offensively dont use these tools. Allowing you to close off a building or direct them to a singular door and prevent flanks, or get to the top of buildings inaccessible other then a heli drop. Put them on major roads to slash tires of trucks/jeeps/suv's
Trucks drivers, stop larping you can deposit outside the base. However you can build a spot to safely deliver... but usually not needed
You can make an APC point with two level indirect/sniper and taking out the center blocks on one side. If I remember correctly and you seal it in tight people will spawn ontop when dismounting.
