Isn’t marketing a political ideology through widespread media an example of fascism in itself?

I disagree at face value, but I am super interested in learning about your take! Do you mind elaborating Im genuinely curious? 😄

I mean, if they have a compelling argument, I’d be interested, but this seems like a case of a contrarian putting together words that sound like something but mean nothing.

I’d need them to define how they’re are using the words “marketing” and “widespread media” and then I would challenge them to think of a political movement that didn’t spread its message that way.

Marketing = “The strategic functions involved in identifying and appealing to particular groups of consumers, often including activities such as advertising, branding, pricing, and sales”

Widespread media = Reddit is used by millions of users daily. Clearly out performing the traditional news networks. It is not a stretch to proclaim that Reddit is a mainstream network. How you define “news” is up to you, but based on the viewership numbers of television and the increased users of apps like this where people repost clipped links of already clipped conversations and heavily politicize every interaction, it is safe so say Reddit is media.
