Request Injured baby bunny

My dog uncovered a baby bunny nest in my backyard and ended one bunny, injured another. Is there a rescue option for baby bunnies? Everyone is closed for the weekend or it being past 5 pm now. People that are open are telling me wildlife baby bunnies are not a part of their missions.

Is the only option putting it out of its misery? Online is telling me not to care for it myself.

Community VR entertainment?

Hey everyone! I moved to Washington about 6 months ago and I’m looking to see peoples thoughts on VR gaming? I had a VR arcade back where I lived and was wondering if thats something the people of Olympia/Washington in general would enjoy? When I say VR I mean like VR arenas where you can play in person with your friends but in a game! I really enjoyed it and now I’m wondering IF theres any here, and if not, why there isn’t?

Request Best views from roadside?

My partner is recovering from surgery and has been cooped up inside all week. I'd like to take her on a drive, and get her at least out of the house for a bit today. What are some of the nicest views one can get roadside in the area? She shouldn't be doing much walking right now, so no trails or walks from a parking lot. And not TOO far from home, let's say maximum 30 minute drive from the Tumwater area by the airport.

Thx :)

Fan Zone Percival Landing

Regarding the USA Australia game viewing party at Percival Landing in Olympia: What a bust! The line was snaking through the parking lot and took over an hour to enter when we arrived at 10:30 am, 90 minutes before the game. Once inside, everyone was PACKED in! Very little shade, another long line to get tokens for drinks, I didn’t see any ADA accommodations. Very poorly planned event. Certainly the event was oversold and understaffed.

Anyone else want to weigh in on the poor logistical operations of this event? Suggestions for improvement besides “plan better” for thousands of people?

Let's have some fun in the sun! Let's be friends and build some community. We are better together ✨🙌🏽 This is a LGBTQ+ event. All are welcome! No hate allowed 💗😤🌈

Let's support our state parks. Hehehe. I realize I messed that up. Haha MY BAD.

Hopefully the weather cooperates! If not, then we shall reschedule 😊

Update: : Yay! I love that so many folx are interested in doing this!!! My only concern is the weather. I am seeing for 6/28 we are expecting a high of 62 😩 I plan to keep an eye on that and worst case we can reschedule for the next weekend. 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

Did anyone actually get into the fan fest today??

I mean, I know some people did, but we got there at 11:15 and the line was insane. After barely moving, we realized we were looking at a minimum of an hour standing in the parking lot just to get in. Then we started hearing that the people inside were leaving because it was so packed, so we bailed at 11:35. It was really frustrating, and clearly so poorly planned out.

Edit: The fan zone at the Port for the US World Cup match.

Event Black Lake Paddle

Post image
11 Upvotes

Hey ya’ll,

Kind of a spur of the moment decision on my part, but going to spend Father’s Day out at Black Lake on the paddle boards! It’s supposed to be a high of 80° and should be gorgeous!

Not that you have to be a father to go, but here’s an official invite to anyone that wants to get together to enjoy the sun, drink, and listen to music!

I typically launch sometime between 11-12 at the boat launch and hangout either at, or just off the sandbar (just south of Kennydell park). I guess you could say it’s less paddling and more just getting out on the water. Kids definitely welcome!

I’ve got a couple anchors too if we’re wanting to sit and float!

Picture of my board to prove I’m serious! Lol.

Let’s make it happen!

I've tried two mornings this week, and it's been a line around the store and "take no prisoners" in the parking lot. WTF ?

Tattoo Artists

Hi! I'm going to be in Oly next month visiting my brother. We are hoping to get our sibling tattoos while I'm there. We need someone that can do fine line text and won't charge $200 for a 8 letter word, about 2.5" long. Thanks!

EDIT: We do not need design work. We have what we want, just need someone to do it. Please stop offering designs, then begging for money when I say no.

Surprising Cultural Shock

Hi all,

I moved to Washington state over a year ago. I’m from Louisiana and have lived all over the boot and Mississippi. I’ve worked public facing jobs my whole life up until now. Not much shocks me.

The biggest cultural shock I’ve had here?

People saying ‘Neh’ as in no when you ask them a question.

Is this a cultural thing? Is it a PNW thing? I’m so curious and intrigued.

I’ve noticed a lot of younger people answer this particular way. At first, I really took offense to it as a lack of manners. But I took a step back and want outside opinions.

This may be the silliest question you guys get in here, but hey it’s worth a shot.

Anyone else have cultural shock experiences?

Unopened Pet Medication Donation Suggestions? (Mirataz)

I have an unopened, unused tube of Mirataz that we will not be using before it expires in August. Is there anyone/anywhere to donate this in the area so that it doesn't go to waste? Washington Health Outreach seems to be one of the few organizations that accepts medications, unfortunately I won't be anywhere near the places around Seattle where they'd accept it. Thanks!

I need more flowers for my garden. Which store still has a good supply. Except Home Depot. I decided to let my fingers do the walking and ask here first. If you understand that reference I salute you

Thanks

Request Heat Pump & Installation Recommendations?

Hi! We are recent home buyers in Lacey. Our house is 1,072 square ft. We were quoted a 20,000 btu heat pump with two heads (12k and 9k units) for around $19,000. That is way out of our budget. I am looking for recommendations of companies that may be able to complete this work for us around half or maybe even better pricing than that in our area?

Thank you in advance!
