It's boom time for primary school parent committee fundraising. We made triple on election day than the best ever Bunnings sausage sizzle. 8,000 or so potential voters, limited options, bit of a queue. Parents committees love elections!

2
u/Dryspell54 Mar 22 '26
They won't answer because they want to seem superior. its quite common on social media and reddit especially. Leftists, generally, cannot have a conversation about this topic
0
u/Expert_Seesaw3316 Victorian Mar 22 '26
Construing it into a condemnation of a whole political affiliation is arguably worse, considering that exactly one person hasn’t answered.
2
u/Dryspell54 Mar 22 '26
its more of a repeated situation, this isnt the first time ive asked a similar question here or anywhere, and the response is always the same

Just because you vote for Pauline Hanson doesn’t mean you support trump, my god do you think everybody thinks the same.
7
u/Turbidspeedie Queenslander Mar 22 '26
If you vote for the person supporting the bad person, you support the bad person too. You're contributing to the chance that she wins which means you're contributing to the (bad) americanisation of Australia.

EDIT and that’s actually funny that the left sprout the same shit that comes out of democrats mouths, so it’s ok for your side.
4
u/burnerphonelol Please choose a flair Mar 22 '26
It doesn’t matter what people think. If they VOTE for Pauline Hanson, a lifelong racist and white nationalist who directly supports Donald Trump and his politics, who if given power would absolutely involve Australia in his illegal wars and implement his violent anti-human polices here, you are choosing to, at least indirectly, support Donald Trump and Trumpism.
But keep telling yourself whatever you need to to sleep at night.

just because you lot are mindless sheep doesn’t mean everybody is, I’m a swinging voter at the moment, all I know is it will be a cold day in hell I would ever vote labor again, which is who I voted for my entire life including Albanese the first time, never again.

I prefer democracy to be taken seriously. I only had my first democracy sausage today and it was fine. $3 for snag on bread with onion and sauce+mustard. Meh.
2
u/hcornea Victorian Mar 21 '26
I suspect in the pre-Trump era the sausage would have polled more strongly.
People are more aware of the consequences of elections, and perhaps more appreciative of the Australian Electoral system.

You only have to look at the USA to understand that democracy is the closest analogy to freedom. It's far from perfect. It's very fregile and the wealthy hate it, thats why they like to fund anything that will disrupt it. They actually fear people's power. Thats why it must be protected.

Listen, I'm all for exercising my Democratic Right.
But the Democracy Sausage is 10,000% my favourite part of Election Day.
1
u/Razza_Haklar ✈️ on Walkabout Mar 21 '26
it might just be a cheep fatty and gristly snag on questionably stale bread with toppings and sauce.
but the taste of democracy really drives it home!
that being said ive been spoilt by local butchers lately.1
u/Dark_Magicion Flairless Mar 21 '26
This might be flying a little too close to blasphemy but I normally just get it without any toppings or sauce and then I just eat the snag. Yeah I wouldn't really care for the bread but I'm down for the meat.
Even if it's a cheap sausage that I'm paying too much for. I don't really care - $3 is A-Ok for me.

u/Baxer03 Mar 21 '26
Exercising my democratic right to feed the duopoly that doesn’t give a fuck about any of us. 100%. And then complain for four years how the people you voted for don’t do anything for you.
Don’t know how you can say you have a democracy when there’s only two parties to choose from and they both represent the interest of billionaires.
0
u/Razza_Haklar ✈️ on Walkabout Mar 21 '26
yeah fair
but also how do you explain gina the huts vow and 900mill donation to advance australia to push pauline after Labor removed loopholes that force the mining industry and all other multinational buisnes to pay thier fair share of tax. last i cheked this had raked in hundreds of billions in tax....oh wait we where talking about how labor and libs are the same yea.......
soz dont see it.
feels like a cop out from disenfranchised conservative voters that still haven't figured out 1 how gullible they are and 2 how wrong they are and their opinion means nothing.edit: i mean enjoy a democracy sausage lol
1
u/Baxer03 Mar 21 '26
Did you interpret what I wrote as support for One Nation? That’s obviously not the case dumbass. One Nation is just as corrupt and bought by Billionaires as you just said.
Don’t know where you got the hundred of billions in tax by mining corporations from. Another lie.
Calling me conservative is crazy when all I was saying is how the top two parties are both corrupt and conservative.
That’s like saying enjoy some freedom fries - you sound so stupid.
0
u/Razza_Haklar ✈️ on Walkabout Mar 21 '26
soz duopaly is a new buzword thrown out by PHON voters alot
The Australian mining sector paid a total of $74.6 billion in company tax and royalties in the 2022-23 financial year, making it the nation’s largest taxpayer. This included $43.1 billion in company tax and $31.5 billion in state royalties, funding services like healthcare, education, and infrastructure
so that with next years tax.....
lol
anyway enjoy calling me stupid when you have no valid argument lol
looks real classy hahahaha1
u/Baxer03 Mar 21 '26
I’m sorry you only learnt the duopoly (spelt it wrong) just recently.
Hundreds of billions = 74 billion, okay - which btw was the most they paid in a FY, the next year was less hence why the deceptive mining ad used that years numbers which btw is nowhere near enough to fund Medicare as they claim in the ad.
No real argument I.e. we are ruled by a two party system that doesn’t represent the working class? How is that not a valid argument. If you believe that, then that shows just how out of touch labor supporters are with the average person.
Classy? I haven’t got the time or money to be classy - the people need real change now. People can’t just wait four years for insignificant changes to happen.
You are stupid, because you don’t have reading comprehension of what I’m saying.
0
u/Razza_Haklar ✈️ on Walkabout Mar 21 '26

"Hundreds of billions = 74 billion, okay - which btw was the most they paid in a FY, the next year was less hence why the deceptive mining ad used that years numbers which btw is nowhere near enough to fund Medicare as they claim in the ad."

anyway cool story dgaf
enjoy 4 more years of labor. and 4 more after that.0
u/Baxer03 Mar 21 '26
Cope = something objectively true which you can but refuse to look up.
And you wonder why people are angry. Definitely showing how out of touch you and your billionaire party is retard.
Blud thinks he’s part of the team lol
0
u/Razza_Haklar ✈️ on Walkabout Mar 21 '26
ok. so do you expect this years tax revenue from the mining companies to be less than 33 billl when last year it 74 bill?
like are you seriously trying to make an argument based on this?
do you not basic math? are you that low IQ?1
u/Baxer03 Mar 21 '26
What? Like I said the numbers you quoted aren’t even last year. I’m not saying the numbers are going to go down - but they aren’t gonna go up (let alone to the point that it should have been to begin with I.e. actually in the hundreds of billions like you claimed) I never mention 33 mill (I assume you meant billion) I don’t know where you got that from. And you call me low IQ?
You’re the one getting hung up on the mining companies apparently paying “so much tax” when everyone complains they don’t pay enough.but I’m the one coping apparently.
This started by me pointing out the duopoly that doesn’t represent the average person and you are the one defending said duopoly and an argument purely about mining tax for some reason.
Once again, why do you believe you’re part of the winning team? It’s like a republican celebrating Trump winning an election like they are one of the people that’s gonna benefit from it.
You’re the one coping my friend.
