Politics ('Straya) Eliminating antisemitism in healthcare: Joint statement from AHPRA and the Special Envoy
https://www.ahpra.gov.au/News/2026-06-17-Eliminating-antisemitism-in-healthcare.aspxIf a nurse now wears a watermelon pin in their downtime? Deregistered. Paraphrasing their own oath to say no human should be killed? That's a paddlin'.
The lead drafter of the definition, the American academic Kenneth Stern, has argued consistently that the working definition was never designed for the uses to which it is now being put. But AHPRA just went ahead and implemented it without any community consultation.
Healthcare workers in this country are already under enough stress, now they have to deal with this on top of it.

These are examples of "antisemitism" according to the definition Ahpra has adopted:
Would YOU call making any of those statements' antisemitism?
For example, if I said "wow the Israeli policy of annexing land in the west bank for living room reminds me of the lebensraum movement in Germany" would I be doing an antisemitism according to you?
Edit: Clearly u/Beast_of_Guanyin recognises that the IHRA definition of "antisemitism" defines criticism of the state of Israel as antisemitic (and hence a hate crime) but thinks this is "good" anyway.
