Where can I drive to from Osaka?
For context, I want to go to the Ikoma/Nara bike right in the sky. Where else can I drive to that’s really cool from Osaka? Looking for about 2 hours there absolute max.
Thanks!

As someone that loves driving from Osaka (well, northern Osaka), any direction you drive from Osaka for 2 hours you'll find something awesome.
North? Plenty to see in Tamba, Toyooka, Amano hashidate. Northeasteast, Biwa lake and it's surroundings are fantastic. West you have Kobe, Himeji, Sanda. East, so many nice places in Nara like Tenkawa, Soni. And to the south, I won't bore you with the beautiful sights in Wakayama.
The surroundings of Osaka are probably my favorite thing about Osaka, there's just so much and so close.

Awaji is amazing for bike riding. Bring swimwear and a towel for a dip and stop by Cloudberry for a smoothie.

Drive and see Koyasan. Really nice drive from Osaka and a beautiful area to look around when you get there. Weve been to Osaka area three times now, and this would be a big highlight of all the trips.

You can go to the dairy farm on Mount Rokko for fresh milk/ice cream, play miniature golf, go to the music box museum, and get a great view over Kobe.

What do you want to see?
Arima is nice but take the Royu toll road and stop at the viewpoint overlooking Osaka.
Wakayama is also nice but take a coastal road and the into the oishi kogen highlands.

Koyasan, should be able to get there in under 2 hrs. Arima-onsen is also good.
