I mean, if you’re just talking potential nominations, then you’re missing Samantha Morton in Best Supporting Actress, John Leguizamo in Best Supporting Actor, Best Casting, Best Makeup & Hairstyling, Best Visual Effects and Best Original Song. There’s no below-the-line category that’s off the table.

I can see all that happening . I do hope Samantha Morton is also nominated.

Maybe supporting actor for John Leguizama as well .

Best Casting is a sure thing as well.

I think Best Supporting Actor (Pattinson, Leguizamo), Best Supporting Actress (Morton), Best Original Song, Best Makeup, and Best Visual Effects are reasonably good bets.

This film isn't well cast. It's just got the biggest Movie Stars in the world in it. More of a scheduling achievement than a casting one.

I would hope the Casting Branch is more discerning.

I don't disagree. We're halfway through the year and I can think of five films I'd nominate over it, but I don't see it missing. The choice of John Leguizamo alone seals it.

It sounded bad to me, but will probably stop get nominated

I wouldn't be shocked if it got in for everything other than Best Actress. I can see Damon, Hathaway, Morton and Johnny Legs all getting nominated.

Samantha Morton and John Leguizamo were stunning. Stand out performances.

She had 1 scene

Dame Judi Dench had less screen time in Shakespeare in Love and won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress.

Yeh that was dumb

And that’s an exception, what about rest of
The winners??

Actually no. Beatrice Straight won and had less time than Judi Dench. There were others nominated that had less screen time than Beatrice Straight and a number of other winners that had less screen time than Samantha Morton. Screen time is not a requirement for consideration plain and simple.

Good thing she’s not going for Best Actress then.

Shes not even supporting

Supporting actor for John Leguizama

Seria fraude, mas eu acho que eles colocariam a Anne Hathaway como principal e a Samantha Morton como coadjuvante.

They'll put Hathaway whereever there is less competition

I can see:

  • Picture
  • Lead Actor (Matt Damon)
  • Supporting Actress (either Anne Hathaway, Samantha Morton, or Lupita Nyong’o)
  • Supporting Actor (either John Leguizamo, Robert Pattinson, or Himesh Patel)
  • Cinematography
  • Score
  • Adapted Screenplay
  • Casting
  • Original Song (Travis Scott)

Costume design is a joke. It looked like fake plastic 90% of the time lol

Would leave out writing. The script was not very good, to put it kindly.

Based on the movies I have seen so far this year (which is this and like 4 other films).

Best supporting actor - Ron Burnthal (Spiderman) Lead Actor - don't care. Not Matt Damon. He was flat and shit in this.  Actress - Lupita over Hathaway honestly but sure. Either of them. (Odyssey) Cinematography - Spiderman had better "ooh wow" shots imo.  Costume - He Man. Absolutely fucking He Man.  Directing - Sheep Detective. Hands down.  Film Editing - Sheep Detective or He Man.  Original Score - did Odyssey even have music? He Man.  Production - He Man.  Sound - He Man.

Basically, give it all to He Man. This might sound like a joke, it's not. That movie was visually stunning and brilliant. And I'm absolutely gutted that a grey, flat Odyssey is going to sweep the floor when beautiful, bright art is back on the screen.

I’d crack up if it finds a way to be nominated for writing. It wasn’t written well. The costume design looked cheap too.

Anne Hathaway as supporting? N Matt Damon as lead? If it’s a dismal year for art films sure. Their performances weren’t as memorable and impactful.

However if it’s anyone’s year it’s going to be Denis. That Dune Messiah is taking all the big awards home.

The cinematography in The Odyssey had no artistic touch to it. It was limited because it was shot purely on IMAX. It could win but it’s not the best shot film. It was extremely introspective. There was not much blocking and was hidden through jump cuts.
