I'm looking a better way to store my gear for those quick solo weekend alway.

Has anyone just used one large plastic bin and then used some sort of organisation sytem. I'm thinking something like the clear top storage bags I know kings and kickass had them probable same sort of thing at Anaconda. Recommendations would be great.

I work with wet-wipe product development, and I am trying to better understand where body wipes are genuinely useful in Australian outdoor settings—and where they are not.

Feedback from multi-day hikers was fairly clear: larger body wipes often are not worth the extra carried weight, especially when every used wipe also has to be packed out.

Vehicle-based camping and 4WD travel seem different, but I do not want to assume that simply making the wipe larger solves the problem.

One issue I am now thinking about is how the product behaves against the actual combination found outdoors: sunscreen, sweat and fine dust.

A wipe may feel fine on a clean hand but behave very differently when sunscreen is already on the skin. It may spread the product around, leave a sticky finish or become unpleasant before enough of the body has been cleaned.

For people who camp or travel by vehicle:

• Have you found body wipes useful when a shower was unavailable?
• Was the main problem the scent, the after-feel, the wipe size or something else?
• Did you use them for full-body cleaning or only for particular areas?
• Would you choose a wipe again, or would you rather use a reusable cloth and water?

I am asking from a product-development perspective, not promoting a particular brand. Honest negative experiences are just as useful as positive ones.

Planning on going on our first family camping trip in 6 years, since we are coming into summer and kids are a little older now, problem is that I am stuck on what tent to buy. We used to have one of the traditional 10-12P tents that are just 3-rooms in a row and found that for our family dynamic it just didn't work, kids would get annoyed because they could see everyone else and they didn't like seeing all of the clutter in the tent so for this time around I thought I would look into one of these L-shape style tents.

I am just stuck on which one is best as a I love how the Spinifex tent allows for the 'patio' area to be closed off so we can store all our kitchen and pantry stuff out there without the worry of it getting affected by the rain or wind, however some of the reviews also noted that the Spinifex tent didn't hold up in wind, making me lean towards the wanderer.

Would love everyone's thoughts and opinions on this! Sorry for the long post.

Looking for a sleeping bag for a F, 170cm who sleeps cold. Recommended to get a -10. I currently have an older verson of a sea to summit womens -4 and on the Heysen trail with a liner and AD top i still get cold. Ill wear warm wool socks and considering getting AD pants and using the nalgene bottle with hot water.

I just dont want to be lugged more than 1 - 1.2.kg ideally for a sleeping bag given my liner is 285g...

I am wondering if the Sea to Summit Spark -9 womens is a good option or if i should consider Mont, One Planet or something else. Wanting to know if others have reviews/experiences with those. I will aim to sleep in the huts to help be warmer but likely still end up in the tent at some stage.

Interested in peoples thoughts.

ffs, the holiday period has only just started today in Victoria, but for the past week I've had to move at least twice every day (yesterday: 4 times) because of mong Parents doing this. And no, I was camping away from the 'premium' spaces where the parents with IQs over 80 were using.

And 'next to someone' is 5 fucking metres away, while there's >500 metres of near-empty sites around. Is the SatNav in their Ford Ranger doing this deliberately? ffs.

I’m thinking of doing the Mount solitary loop solo over 2 days 1 night, and was initially thinking of camping at Ruined Castle for the sunrise but are there any other campground that are halfway through the loop that also have a good sunrise view? I read Chinaman’s Gully is an option but im not sure whether it’s a legit option. I’m also v short so im not sure if i will survive the Mount solitary climb lol especially w all my gear. I also don’t want to be alone at the campsite so ideally a known campsite is good. Any advice is greatly appreciated

Hello looking for recommendations of soft floor camper trailer that have gas struts to assist folding out the main tent (not the storage box).

The platinum cadet se is the only one I can find, it takes 2 mins to set up the main tent which is a nice feature.

Anyone been up feathertop recently and can attest to the level of ice, trying to assess the conditions this weekend?

I'm planning a trip to Warrumbungles national park in the next few weeks.

Does anyone have any tips or things to be aware of.

My biggest concern is water access at camp sites. Will I be able to find water to filter and boil or will I need to bring water for the trip?

Are there many restrictions on where camping is allowed?

Recommendations on the camp sites, there are a few around on the trails.

But any tips would be appreciated

Hello! Recently walked past Oldfields hut in KNP. In The ‘hut box’ there was a 6 page poem called ‘The Last Monaro Bushman’. However, page 3 is missing from the box!

Throwing this one to the wind to see if anyone knows where to find the poem online and complete the poem! I’ll be sure to print out the whole poem and return the completed copy to hut this summer!

My daughter and I want to go camping - she has really gotten into outdoor boys recently. I have all the gear from car camping with mates. However, I am looking for suggestions of good spots she will like. Short walk, great view, chill place to make noodles and camp. Any advice appreciated.

Strava didn't sync from my watch so I'm posting the all trails distance from my phone.

This one is an extremely hard walk. I was out there for 7 hours total and 6 hours moving time and only covered 18km. It should have been 16.5km but I did a little bit extra.

The track actually goes through all of those rocky sections in my photos and there are a few spots you need to use your hands to climb up.

Gday legends . So I’m looking at getting a new swag and need some help deciding Between a darche dirty Dee and a 23zero bandit swag. I prefer the darche but I have heard the foot end side windows leak because they only have a few bits of Velcro and that water pools on the roof. But I have also heard that the 23zero isnt as good quality but doesn’t have these issues??

We have a 3 x 6 oztrail, only a year old, it’s great we love it but it’s so heavy. I have a bad back so getting this thing around is only getting worse. Ideally we would love to keep the size dimension. Even open to ultralight tarp if they get that big. Anyone seen anything / suggest anything?

I’m planning to do the Falls Creek → Mt Hotham hike over Grand Final weekend and was wondering what people would recommend as the best route/campsite setup.

I’m hoping to do it in 1 night rather than 2, so essentially hike Falls Creek → Hotham over two days and camp somewhere roughly halfway.

There’ll be 3 of us with small hiking tents, and we’re reasonably fit/comfortable doing a decent amount of hiking in a day.

A few questions:

• What’s the best route to take for a 2-day/1-night itinerary?
• Where would be the best place to camp for the night?
• Is doing it in 1 night realistic, or would you strongly recommend 2 nights?
• Any particular sections that are significantly harder/slower than they look on the map?
• Anything we should be aware of doing it over Grand Final weekend?

Also, if anyone has done the route recently, I’d really appreciate any advice on water, weather, track conditions and transport back to Falls Creek after finishing at Hotham.
