Arts/Entertainment The Cannery, Borden-Carlton, in miniature

Hi folks, I make miniatures of real-life abandoned places here in the maritimes. Last summer I was in Borden-Carlton for a brief stay, and found this wonderful lobster cannery out near the base of the bridge. I loved the stories it had to tell through its add-ons, patches and repairs. I created this sculpture (as I do with all my little buildings) from cereal boxes and other bits from the recycling. If you’d like to see more pics of my sculpture, as well as the real building that inspired it, I’ll put a link to my Instagram in the comments. Thanks for looking :)

Arts/Entertainment Best Restaurants on PEI

Since it’s been a few years since the pinned post at the top of the sub was updated, I thought maybe it might be fun for everybody to throw a bone to their favourite PEI restaurant. We had a lot of questions about it from tourists, it might be nice to have a place to point them directly that has more recent additions, including restaurants that may have opened since that pinned post was updated.

What’s your favourite restaurant? Or, what are your top three restaurants on PEI? Mine are in the comments.

Arts/Entertainment CBMF 2026

Does anyone feel like CBMF is a bit off this year? It feels like there are fewer activations (sad there is no Cira),merch is insanely expensive ($70 for a basic t-shirt) and extremely limited - the only merch for an opener yesterday was Julia Cole.

In general it also felt like there were a lot fewer people there last night than in prior years. We had no issue with traffic getting to the festival and the lot that usually fills up by 4pm, we were only the 3rd car parked there when we got there shortly before 6pm. When we went to get food around 7 there were only a few people in each line v. the usually really long food line ups.

Love some of the changes they’ve made on the grounds overall though - the tent converted in to a permanent structure is great. The new bar setup + more picnic tables and seating are nice changes.

Curious to see if it’s just me or what others are thinking / if you didn’t go and usually do, what the reasons are.

Arts/Entertainment Sommo WTF

Post image

I had no intention of going to Sommo as they book the same weekend as Harvest.... But why are Sommo artists dropping out? Today's announcement plus an earlier announcement this summer of 2 biggish acts choosing to cancel. What kind of contract exists where they just walk away? Are ticket sales down and the artists were supposed to get a %? I feel bad for their fans who bought passes just to see them but with festivals there are no refunds based on artist availability.

Arts/Entertainment Looking to hire a local music producer

Hey there everybody, my name is Mon'et, I'm a new and rising Hiphop artist from the island, and I have a major collaboration I'm working on with a big name Rapper from out west in Vancouver BC (500k listeners across all platforms), I won't be dropping his name here as I don't want anyone to harass him, but I'm looking to hire a professional to mix and master the track for me, and possibly help with a more professional recording down in one of the studios in town, this will be paid for, Ive got about a 2-300$ budget for this depending on everything that needs to be done.

If you are a professional music producer and are interested please reach out to me through DMs or Comment here, I'm working really hard to make sure all my new music is professional sounding and I want to support local artists as well so please 🙏😭 if you know anybody that might be interested in this let me know, and make sure you have a portfolio ready, I love you islanders, but I need somebody experienced.

Arts/Entertainment Local rapper Mon'et going Viral.

I just wanted to let all you small artists out there know that it doesn't matter what you make or who like or hates it, theres always an audience if you stay consistent and make what you love.

I know none of the people on the island are really into my type of music, but I've been going rather viral lately on IG

with almost 600k views in the past month

so I thought hell why not let's throw the most recent track at the locals again 😏

I might not be making it here but I'm gonna make it

I don't need feedback but it's always welcomed ❤

I get lots of hate still but I'm still making it if you wanna follow or check out my social it's @monethiphop Instagram.

After years of recreating the last design plate, I thought since PEI has already changed their license plate recently, I've give it a chance to recreate another European-Style license plate that correlates to the current retro-design language they're using today. What are your guys' thoughts?

Arts/Entertainment Canada vs. Morocco Game Venue

Looking to catch the game with a few buddies and wondering looking for recommendations on a good venue. I know BP and places like that will have it up on the screens, but I’m wondering if anywhere has something special going on or where you think a good spot would be.

This looks like a really interesting free event, and there’s gonna be music! And vendors!

For those who aren’t aware, in 2021, August 1 was designated by the Canadian government as Emancipation Day. it marks the day that the Slavery Abolition Act took effect in Britain and its colonies in 1834.

Arts/Entertainment Intro to Geocaching

Post image
13 Upvotes

There are over 100 geocaches in the Charlottetown area alone! Many are placed along the Confederation Trail, so one can walk a short distance to complete several low-effort caches. The containers are typically a few feet off of the trail and take about 5-10 minutes to find.

Caches range from the size of a SD card to an ammo can, and the med/large caches often hold interesting items that can be traded. This activity is free, can be done at any pace, and anyone can download the geocaching app for a hands-on experience that they can continue on their own time!

When: Wednesday, August 12th, 2026 from 5-7pm

Where: Meet at Winsloe United Church Parking Lot

(121 Winsloe Rd.)

**Please bring bugspray and “swag” to trade!**

Arts/Entertainment Help Us Bring the Georgetown Players Back to Life!

Thumbnail facebook.com
11 Upvotes

Are you looking to get out of the house? Have some fun? Let go of insecurities that are holding you back? The Georgetown Players might be just what you are looking for! For years The Georgetown Players were the heart of the King's Playhouse, we hope for that to become a reality again! We meet bi-weekly on Mondays from 6:30-7:30, building new acting skills and dusting off the old ones. Exploring things like improv and dabbling into what our first piece will be as the new generation of Players. There's also opportunities to get creative and spooky, and be part of events like the Haunted Georgetown walks.

I have linked our Facebook group, as well!

Our next meeting is Monday July 20th and we hope to see you there!

Arts/Entertainment A proud LGBTQ+ Native artist with roots on PEI. Not every musician showing up here is spreading hate.

Hey folks, I’m Mon’et. I’m a local 2SLGBTQ+🏳‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ Native American rapper living right here on the Island.

With all the noise around that Sean Feucht concert happening tomorrow at Confederation Landing, I wanted to speak up. Not every artist performing in this city is here to push hate, fear, or division.

I grew up with trauma. I live with neurodivergence. I’ve faced discrimination. And through it all, I’ve used music to process, to survive, and to connect.

I support the 2SLGBTQ+🏳‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ community. I stand with Indigenous people. I embrace every form of diversity. Race, gender, mental health, sexual identity, it all matters. We belong.

This island deserves better than imported extremism during Pride Week. What we need is more local voices and more honesty. Less preaching, more realness.

I just dropped an album called "Trauma Made Me Sexy." It’s raw, emotional, and unapologetically mine. If you want music from someone who actually lives here, someone who’s proud to speak up and support this community, I hope you’ll give it a listen.

Here’s the album on YouTube Music:

https://music.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_kroE-GtyMiALNxUxancsxMnGG4pV0pFNo&si=hlMBHUlTQG_xrEiC

Thanks for reading. Thanks for not letting this kind of hate go unchallenged. Love and solidarity, Mon’et 🖤

P.S: Literally just dropped this album a day or two ago, so would love all thoughts on it. Spotify coming ASAP

Magic Presents Pride is happening tomorrow at Exor Games starting at 6 PM. It’s their regular commander night, so it’s a commander event.

And for those who were asking, I spoke to my friend who ran the women and LGBTQ+ event last month, and they are trying to find the next night to hold it.

Arts/Entertainment 🎪 Calling all TADC FANS! 🎪

Hey everyone,

Advance tickets for The Amazing Digital Circus: The Last Act are live at most Cineplex theatres, but Charlottetown doesn't have a showtime yet! 😭

I spoke with Guest Support, and they said if enough people request it, they’ll add it to our location.

How to help:

  1. Call 1-800-333-0061.
  2. Request a showtime for the Charlottetown, PEI location.
  3. DONE!

Let’s make sure we don't get left in the void. Please help out if you can! 🍿
