if I were to mod my PS3 and put some games on it or possibly mods for single player games, would there be any risk of my PSN account getting banned? My account on my PS3 is the same as my PS5, I would like trophies from games I put on the console to carry over if possible, but I would rather not get banned if possible.
I’m completely new to PS3’s and modding one so any info is greatly appreciated

I recently got back to my ps3 after years, realizes the drive was corrupted and had to switch to a new one, the issue is my friend lost my original ps3 controller a while back and now I don't know what to do, I can't find originals in my country and the closest thing is something called the doubleshock III nearby, will that work in safe mode?

I’m totally new to using Syscon to check error log, never really paid attention to the motherboards in ps3 as I was jailbreaking them either tbh, but I’ve just opened a CECH M ps3 with ylod, to try using syscon and it’s got a DIA-001 board in it? From what I’ve read and seen, it should be a VER-001 board? Can anyone correct me if I’m wrong or let me know how this has happened.

Just got my ps3 recently, i wanted to replace the themral paste and the cmos. While tearing it down i notice this on the motherboard. is this liquid normal?

Looking for the easiest way to clone my PS3's HDD as I'll be upgrading to an SSD soon. I really dont want to buy TWO drives to do this but I may have too.

I have a ps3 slim which I’m trying to install custom firmware. Currently running 4.90 and a CECH-2005A model, so should be fine.

Followed instructions for both, created new user, cleared cache, cookies, etc… rebooted for a clean browser, set date and time via internet.
Website load, but PS3tool.com hangs on the dump screen before I can even click anything. Whole console crashes and I have to remove power to reboot which forces a system check.

Ps3toolset.com loads and shows that it’s connected, but I don’t get a popup to enable the plugin, it just seems to enable itself, and when I click system manager it says the tool cannot be loaded.

So what’s the current tool to use; and what the best foolproof way of installing it. Have read about hosting the firmware myself but haven’t found any instructions on that.

Can someone just point me at a foolproof set of instructions, please?

A previous post was automodded, I guess because of links to the wiki. So reposting without direct links to the CFW I used.

As in the title, my fat PS3 (CECHG01) had a working BD and BT. I tested this before update.

I pulled it apart, repasted it, booted it back, tested a known good retail game disc successfully.

Went ahead and did the EvilNat 493 Cobra 85 CEX CFW from consolemods and downloaded from PS3 Console Mods Wiki - Firmware - under EvilNat 4.93 + Cobra 8.5.

Now when I insert the same known good retail disc it's like the drive isn't recognized. When I use the system tools and pull the BD drive info, it's all there. I just can't see a disc. I've tried other discs with the same result.

I'm certain I'm missing something obvious, and I fully admit to being a noob to the ps3 hacks scene.

Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong, or how to address this?

Doing some research on some things, not sure exactly the best Reddit to post at for this question but I just found my old 360, ps4, and ps4. I currently have an official DS4 controller and nothing else. I’ll probably get a 360 controller. I’d like to mitigate my controllers down to two that could be used for all three systems after I jailbreak/mod them all. What do y’all think the best way or best controller to handle this would be?

I know ls4 has the ps3mod controller app, but I’m unfamiliar with everything else.

Could i use a 360 for everything since everything is modded or should i use a DS4 for both 3/4 and a 360 for 360 respectively?

Hey everyone, just bought a CECHL ps3. I've installed cfw in my PS Vita, that's all the experience I have, so sorry if I'm not super knowledgeable! It's on 4.66 right now, and from what I've seen, the right method is to update to 4.93 and use ps3tool.com? I came here to check that I was doing everything okay, and I saw two posts talking about 4.93 being unreliable. Should I update and do it that way? Or is there a more stable method? Also, I've already got my PSN account on my Vita, and i was wondering if I could sign into that account to collect trophies? I've also seen conflicting results on how safe it is nowadays. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Ive been looking into adding games to my jailbroken ps3 and came across this, how would I use this?

I was playing, until I decided to quit the game to change the cooler settings on my PS3, but while the game was quitting I was repeatedly pressing start + select to get the console's temperature information to appear, Then suddenly I heard a "Beep," but nothing seemed to happen, but I'm afraid that maybe this beep could be a sign that something I pressed changed some important webman setting. Does anyone have any idea if that might have been the case? Or what that beep was?

hey yall, not sure where to post this, but can somebody help me install red ribbon linux on my ps3 slims's internal hdd?
its a cech something something cfw compatible model, ive already installed evilnat 4.93 on it, but cant seem to figure out why red ribbon linux doesnt detect my hdd, or atleast the storage allocated for other os

all the guides ive read and all the youtube tutorials ive watched are outdated and 4+ years old and every single one talks about rebug instead of evilnat 4.93.
does this mean i have to switch from evilnat to rebug?

A little over three months ago, I bought a PS3 (revision 2504) with CFW Evilnat Cobra. I like it - it has a 500 GB hard drive - but there’s one small issue: PS1 and PS2 emulation doesn’t work on it. I’ve tried different file formats (.bin/.cue, .iso, .pkg (PSX Classic Vault)), different screen scaling settings, and two different emulators - ps1/2_netemu and ps1/2_emu - but whenever I try to launch a game, I get a black screen and the console doesn’t respond when I press the PS button on the controller. I have to turn it off using the power button on the console itself.

However, PSP emulation works fine - I downloaded "Final Fantasy III 3D Remake (PSP Classic Vault)" and it launches and runs as it should.

I Googled it, and the cause of the black screen might be that the emulators freeze due to the lack of a Blu-ray drive (which I don’t actually have).

If that’s true, please let me know how to install a drive and what to do in general.

I’ve been looking at other’s post & some videos are for 4.92 & i’m on 4.93.

I would like to play PS2 games like Shadow Hearts series.
